I’m not a coder but I work with them frequently to update designs.
In my experience they will push back hard on massive overhauls like this because the likelihood of something breaking is so high. For example I have worked at places where everyone refuses to touch a function because no one understands how it works and are terrified of breaking it. Particularly because they have no idea how they would even fix it.
The wild part is devs will usually test their own work to some extent (exact setups vary) so they probably knew how bad it was going to be and released it anyway. Typically places would relaunch the latest code that worked while they work on fixing things but that would remove the kitchen feature and the edits made to sensitive content. Definitely curious how they approach fixing it.
So yeah, I’m with you and this thing was definitely forced through despite knowing it was so broken.

having emotional and mental flexibility is literally the most important thing you have. being able to say this doesn’t cater to me but i know there’s someone out there who will be really happy about this should be standard and im not gonna pretend like fandom has always been sunshine and roses (ff.net drama for example if you’re a fandom ancient like me) but this attitude of well if i don’t like it clearly nobody else can or they’re disgusting and deserve harassment is pretty new and prevails way too often for comfort lol

Girl I want to kill someone. The entire game is in shambles, the kindled are out of focus and people don't know whether it's censorship (It seems to affect some cards more than others, lingering lust cards some of the most) or if something broke with the update. Valko is not in the game but these bitchasses still expect me to download the heaviest update ever for absolutely no reason. Valko's poses are now general poses. They apparently reuploaded Xavier's story and changed a bunch of stuff about it. Some spicy voice lines are missing. What even IS this? Do we just jump ship? I'm so tired and mad.
they obviously couldn't remove valko from the game and patch the update in such short notice (and put together early unvoiced stuff too), so the bugs in the game are the consequences i think. i've seen that rafayel's ardent oath was fucked up and that's what cemented that the weird zooming and everything else aren't censorship. they'll fix this eventually. we'll have to decide if there's legitimately a problem if after the fixes the kindleds are censored.
as much as it pains and annoys me to say, we have to wait. ppg's whole house is metaphorically on fire right now from all sides of their player base and they're scrambling to put something out while also dealing with the government breathing down their neck and they can't say ANYTHING with that happening right now -- other than they'll adhere by china's values and will retrain staff. that was their only message up until now if you've noticed. the rest (bilibili world cancellation, update notices, etc.) are just announcements. if that's not a sign of them having to shut the fuck up for now to appease the right places, i don't know what it is. shit is bound to be fucked up either way and nobody is going to be happy.
we are not going to be happy for a long while, i assume. what's next is ppg having to be extra greedy to make up for their losses. and i'm not looking forward to that at all.

6.0 VERSION UPDATE ALERT
“Coming soon” has been removed.
Chapter 30 of World Underneath is intact and untouched.
The texts from the Hunter’s Association are intact and untouched.
This info comes from a verified source that I trust!
I know the removal of “coming soon” is a blow, but all of the information we have pertaining to Valko is still fully intact. Do not lose hope!! This is enough for us to continue to push.
