Finished this last week— meant to post it on Valentine’s Day. But I just realized I might not be able to get on Tumblr that day. ( Because I will be Back Home then Yay!!!)

Hakusui-sha, a Japanese publishing house that has released numerous translations and academic works on French culture, publishes a monthly magazine aimed at enthusiasts of French culture and learners of the language. A few years ago, the magazine featured a serialized column introducing the Marshals of Napoleon after whom the Ring Road (Boulevard) surrounding Paris is named. The first installment focused on Ney. Regarding Ney, another scholar of French literature has also featured him in a work titled "Biographies of Unique and Eccentric French Figures". However, Japanese researchers of the Napoleonic Wars still seem unable to break free from the discourse of the "Saint Helena School."
