@NNgroup describes learnability as “allowing users to reach a reasonable level of usage proficiency within a short time”. The problem with this is unclear the reasonable level, and learning takes place after that level and always. This can be measured by efficiency of use or performance speed to rate a user from novice to expert.

To use something first we must learn how to use it, user experience researchers are aware of Learnability since 1976, and since then they have been testing human interaction with computers. We can examine learnability of each system as an aspect of user’s capacity of the system’s usability. In 1980, Michelsen et al. defined learnability as: “The system should be easy to learn by the class of users for whom it is intended”.
