We are beyond excited for you all to enjoy the workshops that we all have been working on! We hope to see you all there! You will have access to a copy at the conference.

The Supreme Court of the United States ‪#‎SCOTUS‬ will hear the case on Texas anti-abortion bill, HB 2. Here's what's at stake:

1. The court's ruling may determine whether or not clinics like Whole Womans Health of McAllen may remain open, potentially cutting off millions of people's access to safe abortion care.

2. If #SCOTUS rules in favor of Texas, allowing the severe anti-abortion restrictions to stand, other conservative states may move to pass similar legislation to undermine reproductive rights.

Everyone has the right to decide if and when to have children, and to live in a community that is safe, healthy, and just.

It is our basic human right!

We're hosting an art walk and health fair at the Edinburg City Hall Courtyard to challenge the stigma around reproductive health as part of our Reproductive Justice Week of Action. https://www.facebook.com/events/897197503696766/ Join us for a night of art, performances, music and fun!

There are several ways you can participate in this project. We welcome submissions of all art forms. We do require all your contact information in case we need to reach you about your art in the future. However, you are able to be anonymous in publication.

If you are not sure where to start with your art piece, we also offer a Mockingbird Template that you can download here, decorate the bird in a way that shows what reproductive justice means to you. You can either mail the finished product or scan and submit.

Join us for The Coming Out Monologues.This production is best described as 'social activism through theater'. It is comprised of monologues created by actual community members telling their 'coming out' stories that are awaiting to be brought to life.

I run the Texas Rising program in our community — we’re working on issues related to reproductive justice, LGBTQ equality and voting rights. I believe that together we can create a progressive, inclusive and supportive community. Here’s how we’re doing that:

On campus. If you’re a student in the area and want to get more involved in the direction of our community and state, then check out the student chapter in our area. You’ll work with government and media, travel with other activists and have access to job possibilities. (If your campus isn’t listed, email me back and let’s talk.)

In the community. Even if you’re not a student, I want you involved. We're hosting a reproductive justice week of action starting November 16. We have several events and actions that'll take place throughout the RGV during this week, including a bike ride to challenge the stigma around abortion called "Ride the Stigma Away," and a benefit show and art installation to support a local abortion fund called La Frontera Fund.

Anytime. You’ve got my email address now. Shoot me a message if you want to talk about an issue in the community, or maybe you need to get a bunch of folks — like the rest of the young progressive community and TFN’s 100,000+ supporters — involved.
