An Email That I Had Cause To Send To My Local Gay Bathhouse
Hello,
As I checked in tonight, I was told that as a trans woman, I was technically only allowed in on the monthly transfem nights and if anyone had a problem with my presence tonight I would be ejected. Nobody did, and the only visit made worse was my own. When I checked out and told him this, he told me that I was "being sensitive" and he was "being nice," pointing to the F marker on my ID.
I would like to have this admission policy clarified before I return, whether on a transfem night or otherwise.
Now, the very first rule is: You are aware that Steamworks is a private club for gay/bi men with public nudity and pornography. I am aware of this, but it does not say exclusively; my understanding was that as long as guests understand that queer men are the primary audience and behave well, there is no strict gatekeeping of identity. Indeed, over the past two years, I have been to Steamworks many times on days outside of the transfem events with no problems from either guests or management. If that policy hasn't changed, the clerk was making up a stricter version, and if it has, then he was bending it in my favor while still ruining my visit. If I'm not allowed in, I would rather just be turned away than have the threat of expulsion hanging over me all night. He also did not answer any of my follow-up questions about how this rule handles trans men who haven't updated their IDs or do not pass to his satisfaction, or any other edge case of identity that cannot be immediately parsed. He did not give me any impression of this being a robust, standardized policy rather than his own snap judgements, and I would like to have an official ruling in writing before I return.
Steamworks is very dear to me; I have made friends there, brought friends and loved ones along, and I want to be able to keep visiting without the stress of potential expulsion at any time. I can stick to the monthly transfem nights if necessary, but it would be tragic if I could only visit on twelve days each year.
Thank you for your time, -Alexi
I don't want to air out the full exchange I've had with them, but suffice it to say that they're being huge cunts who have killed my desire to get a tattoo based on a bathhouse key
Actually fuck it, here's what they wrote back to me and here's me being a bitch on the way out:

I think that making deeply self-indulgent porn is a good way to make peace with how your work can’t be all things to all people, you have to make genuine tradeoffs about what gets focus and trust that the people who aren’t into it will peacefully self-select out of your audience
Like, otherwise it’ll feel at best unfocused and at worst exhaustively baby-proofed against people who are still gonna be pissants about it regardless

I truly don't think there's anything worse than an artsy theatre kid band trying to do a dark edgy song about domming someone. like it's giving dr horrible. I don't believe you.
it's the same problem every booktok dark romance D/s fantasy has, which is that it's written by a sub projecting what they think they want that guy to sound like. there's nothing sexy about someone sweatily pointing out to you how dommed you are right now for fear that you weren't aware you're totally subjugated and definitely 100% under their control. also they're feeling very possessive btw. are you listening. though actually now that I'm typing it, this is also the problem with 90% of cishet maledoms irl so maybe they're cooking. post cancelled.
hey so you'll never guess what prompted this post
get secondhand embarrassment with me
ik nobody's talking about these songs anymore but I've been thinkin about this ship ever since ERB came out so... I call this "Confessions of a Rotten Ego Renegade Boy" because it's dumb and it fits them
genuinely obsessed w this concept now might draw these gay sillies more
Forget all the consequence-free dismemberment and crucified fascists, the real power fantasy of Replaceable Parts is being a trans woman capable of spontaneous erections
dreaming of becoming an important historical figure so i can one day long after my death be featured in an eroge slash gacha as a foxgirl with h cup titties

when we kill you there will be dancing in the streets. your blood will fill up every street in the world and we will all run and leap and wheel through it and rejoice; everyone in the world will know when you die and we will all be happy again. the dead children of war will rise up and play, gleefully splashing in the gutters and ditches which are all full of your entrails, and there will be food for them, and clothing, and a place to sleep; the problems of scarcity will be solved instantly, by everyone, in the ecstasy of your passing. the stock tickers will all climb, everyone will have a pension fund; better yet, money will be a thing of the past. there will be a new and perfect logistical system of distribution based entirely in the connection we all feel after you're dead. no one will ever have to worry about disability again in the society we will produce by killing you. violence is gone too; no one will ever be violent after, the last gasp of violence will leave us as you topple to the ground and choke in the dust and we will all paint pictures to put in the history books, that time we killed you and were perfectly happy, and all our wrongdoing left us with your death
I'm not really a HanLuke shipper but I can imagine them hooking up early in their friendship & then Han later after various revelations having a personal crisis over whether or not it's weird to have sex with both halves of a set of twins
& like he can't ask anyone if it's weird without admitting that he's already done it. he could talk to Luke about it bcos obviously Luke already knows but he's kind of avoiding the subject with Luke in case drawing attention to the fact that he's dating Luke's sister prompts a shovel talk. he's pretty sure Luke can kill people with his brain now and he doesn't want to have that particular shovel talk if he an avoid it.
If Han came to me with this kind of question, I would be very supportive and make sure he didn't uncomfortable about having to ask the question because most of all this is about his feelings.
However, I would also desperately need to know if Luke used the force on that thang, and Han also knows I would ask, which is why he never brings these problems to me.
