He thought that Jean had frozen Peter too and that there was nothing else he could do to stop her taking over the entire city and doing who knew what to everyone! And, notably, he waited until it really did look, from the outside, that Jean had won and that she wasn't listening to Peter. He gave Peter time to talk her down! No wonder he was devastated when Peter took the bullet instead. That's the kid he was trying to save!

When I was hesitant about Frank Castle being in Brand New Day, what I failed to account for is that Frank is the perfect person to hear "I'm staying away from my loved ones to protect them" and respond with "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Go talk to them."

I keep seeing people saying that peter and frank have a "father/son dynamic" or a "uncle/nephew dynamic" but you are all wrong. They have the dynamic of the older coworker that you are way to close with when you're in your 20s. We've all had that coworker. Thats your best friend kinda. But it only works in a work setting

One thing I love about Brand New Day is that Peter really does feel older. He's not a teenager anymore, he's an adult and an adult who has had to be entirely self-sufficient. And you feel that in the way he carries himself and the way he interacts with other characters, especially the detective and Frank.

the scene when peter leaves the hospital made me tear up because its such a stark contrast to the way people acted towards spiderman/peter in no way home and yet he can‘t fully bask in the praise and adoration so he’s left to stand there in disbelief because he knows that this is all conditional to his continued anonymity

People complaining about Peters tech being too high tech in brand new day like the movie aint set in 2028 in a world that had a man in a flying metal suit in 2008, artificial intelligence in 2015, and drones that could create life like illusions in 2024 that stuff is probably low quality tech in their world, not to mention Peter's a genius who was literally introduced as a dumpster diver in his first appearance
