Belgium: Big hardcore festival books homophobic band.
Ieperfest has been a great festival for years. In a time when other festivals produce heaps of waste, they tried their best to keep waste to a minimum, their festival ground has always been one of the cleanest in Europe and they only serve vegan food to reduce their carbon footprint. And, importantly, they consistently defended their attitude of ‘No racism, sexism, fascism’. However, this year, they booked the band ‘Impaled Nazarne’, with lovely lyrics such as: “Why should we tolerate pansy faggot shit Not even in an animal world, male sucks male dick Crawl back under the rock you faggots came from This is the real fucking world, fuck your inferior rights! Zero tolerance, no fucking rights Monkey fucks monkey, punishment is A.I.D.S It is disgusting!! Listen you fucking homo boys, your time has come And if you are a lesbian, you still got a cunt to rape It is unnatural!”
The singer has been quoted in interviews saying : “Absence of War…’ is a completely anti-Islamic song, and it’s not even their church it’s the people that I absolutely hate. Because in Finland you don’t have Muslims at all, but I used to live in Belgium for seven years, and the whole country is packed with Muslims. I learned to know them and I realized that those are the shittiest people on this planet. “
Fans of the festival are naturally outraged at this booking, but so far the festival hasn’t responed to criticism. What do you think of Ieperfest’s decision, to book a racist, homophobic band? Let them know, ask them why they booked such a terrible band:
