hello! i'm a big fan of your art and your work is honestly super inspiring! i'm honestly looking to be hired to draw CGs/sprites, and i've been drawing for ages but i have no idea where to start with making a portfolio and i was wondering if you had any tips?
Hi! So the easiest place to start is to showcase off what you can do specifically with CGs and sprites. When I first started out i drew up these sprite examples:
haha wow those are old, anywaysssss, you donāt need someone to commission you for you to do one of these, its good practice and you can have fun doing it with an OC or something! But donāt feel pressured to have to draw one of these, any art that youāve done that showcases your skill at drawing characters is totally usable for a portfolio! However having a nice clean layout might make you look more professional ;)
As for CG art, CGs are just illustrations. Thereās no clearcut definition to what a CG maybe, so just include any illustrations youāre proud of in your portfolio!
Now if youāre looking to get out there and advertise your services, Iād recommend the lemmesoft forums. Its a forum specifically for visual novels. Post what youāve got on theĀ āArtists for Hireā board and see what comes your way!
