                    Remember when we used to get fake engaged on Valentine’s day for free goods? Ironically enough, the most recent tangent the two had went off on took them on another stroll down memory lane as Xaire drove to the undisclosed location he’d talked Angel into going to. It hadn’t been mentioned in a while, but that was teh one outstanding thought he had and he couldn’t help the goosebumps that one specific thing gave him anytime he thought about it. They hadn’t been out together in quite sometime, and it had honestly been a surprise to him when he impulsively suggested it. He’d gotten dressed up, or at least his variation cause it was far from the adopted attire of sweats and a-shirts he’d been wearing for just about everything lately. And as th date continued, Xaire seemed to come more and more out of his shell, they were sharing pasta at some random spot right outside of town, his arm around her as they occupied the same side of the booth and he showered her in as much affection as he could. A budding child in her womb wasn’t the only new thing being brought into this relationship, and coupled with Xaire’s drastic changes, and better behavior, things seemed to be on the up and up with the two. Their now shared laughs over all the old things, and the male couldn’t help but yet again bring up the spider incident, once again sparking the great debate of what shoe should’ve really been used for that attack. His mind is all on the date, but his anxiety is starting to kick in with what the impeding thought in the back of his mind is urging him to do, or already made him do. He’s trying to play it cool and keep it altogether until he finally sees the dessert for two he preordered heading their way. Sqeezing Angel’s shoulder, the male gently grabs her face to bring it to his before kissing her lips. “You know you’ve always been that one good thing in my life, right?” 

                    A typical night for Axel had him locked away in his apartment with his research. Nothing to distract him but his newest playlist blaring through the small space, and the occasional food delivery to keep him going. The night got weird when his phone rang, and the specific ringtone he’d set for the other interrupted the the ninties rap playlist he had going in his room. What confused him even more, was the fact that it’d been a little over a year since this particular person rang his line at all. The conversation was quick, nothing new than what he was used to with her and the next thing you knew, Axel was entering some stranger’s house to gather up an old friend who’d once again let herself get a little too loose. As if skipping a beat was the impossible, the scene continued as he picked up the girl, helping her out of the party (to her quickly forgotten wishes), and listening toher slurred complaints and lighthearted insults. He helped her into his car, using his music to drown her out the rest of the way back to the place she’d requested. He’d taken his time getting her inside, making sure she was okay and trying his best to leave a care package of water, some asprin and something to snack on next to her in bed. It wasn’t until he hit the doorway to leave, that she finally spoke up again, this time delivering a request. He turned back to look at her, a soft smile on his face as a dry chuckle left his lips, he walked back over toward the bed as he shook his head no. “I think it’s best for me if I don’t do that, Far.. But I’ll check in on you tomorrow, is that cool?” He told her, leaning down to press a sweet kiss to the top of her head. “You’ll probably be sleep when I call, so just make sure you ring me back so I know you’re okay.”

                   Dinner parties like this were the ones he dreaded the most, forced into a setting with friends he particularly didn’t want to be around for more than a few hours was one thing, then you throw one of his exes into the mix and that made it all the more unbearable. The break up was still fresh, and despite going completely out of his way to avoid the other, when events ran like this through mutual acquaintances, they couldn’t help but to enhabit the same space from time to time. He couldn’t deny the fact that he missed her though, all the measures he went to to avoid her aside. Armored with two champagne flutes, he spots her in the house and makes his way to her, might’ve been the extra drinks he’d already taken in, or just the fact that he missed his girl had him making this move in the first place. Similar to waving a white flag, he extended the flute with a sheepish grin on his face, his eyes purposely exploring her as she looked as amazing as ever. “How about we put the cold war on pause for a night, and just be on some chill shit until it’s over?” His brow rose, and he licked over his lips before drinking from the other glass he held. “It’s been a while, and trying to act like I ain’t see you over here looking this good is a draining task within itself, have a drink with me or something.”

BEX: hell, i don't know what nigga she talking bout either. the only man i acknowledge is dababy and he hasn't had the pleasure of falling in love with me yet so that's a dub.
