Maurader fans characterizing Snape, the character who was shown having the most gender fluidity out of all the characters from that era, a homophobe is a level of delusion that I hope I will never reach.
Never forget that Severus had two glasses of wine in less than an hour when Narcissa went to see him with Bellatrix and he just kept drinking without even the slightest reaction. That totally reinforces my headcanon that my working-class boy can drink whatever the hell he wants and doesn’t even start to feel it until he’s had at least dozen full glasses, true reality for people raised in certain environments, where alcohol takes longer than average to hit. Iconic.
'who bullies children because he can’t deal with his own self inferiority problems'
Where did this detail come from? From a mind so shriveled it can’t understand a complex character like Snape and the themes of classism and appearance-based prejudice, so it made this up to satisfy its own ugliness, I suppose???
Well, first of all, the usual thing: I don’t agree at all with bullying kids. I think he had a beef with Harry that’s super immature, and I admit that. And I think he went too far with Harry at the beginning, because later on Harry is a pain in the ass. And honestly, if I were 31, 32, 33 years old—I’m 30, by the way, so I know what I’m talking about—with all the mental baggage I carry, and I had to deal with some annoying kid constantly questioning me, disrespecting me, talking back, thinking I’m trying to kill the whole school every single year—because every single year that kid suspects me—and every single year he and his friends are spying on me and getting into my life… I mean, I’d lose it.
But saying he has a problem with Harry for no reason, when we all know he has a problem with him because Harry’s father was his bully—and not just that, but because Harry is like his bully—it’s absurd. It’s like: you’ve been psychologically and emotionally crushed for years, publicly humiliated for years, and then when you’re 30, your bully shows up in front of you with the exact same face he had when it all started.
Sure, Harry isn’t to blame for his father being a piece of shit. But someone with that kind of trauma—untreated, no therapy, no tools—also isn’t to blame for having disruptive, dysfunctional reactions. You’re not dealing with someone who’s healed or supported. You’re dealing with a 31-year-old who basically got stuck at 21, who made a deal with the devil—that is, Dumbledore—and had to go back to the place that represents the worst years of his life, basically as a servant to an old man giving him orders. And you expect that guy to handle, day after day, being face-to-face in class with the embodiment of his trauma? That’s just unfair.
Let me tell you something, to all the Karens, or Marianas, whatever you want to call them: when you date men, you justify them ghosting you, giving you intermittent reinforcement, talking to you like crap, making misogynistic comments about women online. You justify that they don’t clean the bathroom, that they complain about doing basic chores, that they act like overgrown children and you’re willing to mother them and teach them how to be functional adults. And then you’re telling me you condemn a character for bullying just because he doesn’t know how to manage his emotions in front of a kid who looks exactly like his abuser? Mariana por favor.
Top things that never happened in the Harry Potter series: 1. The Marauders growing up to be mature adults.

Yall noticed how all the animals Severus is compared to are skittish, shy, reclusive and prey.
Also the way he reacts around the marauders, constantly on edge.
He didn’t stand a chance in that cruel world.😔😔
If Severus were given the chance to return to the past again, do you think he would take the opportunity to go abroad, far away from the war, or would he still choose to stay? If he stayed, who or what would he stay for?
He'd definitely choose to stay and fight in the war against Voldemort, because his arc is going from being somewhat selfish (caring about his own safety, and about Lily's as his emotional attachment figure. I'm not at all saying it was some kind of big moral failure, in my opinion what we see in teen/YA Sev is self-preservation not even taken far enough to be truly effective or actively ruthless; but this is indeed an axis where his stance changes with age) to being selfless, and choosing to sacrifice Lily's son because Albus told him it's the only way to win the war.
If he returns to the time before Potters' death, he'd definitely still care for Lily and desperately want to protect her (tho I don't think he'd try to have a deep personal relationship with her — in the same way he didn't after they broke apart, except there'd be way more guilt and his belief in his "brokenness" mixed into it now; as well as him probably being weirded out seeing Lily as a teen with the eyes of an adult who spent his life working with teens. I think he'd try to earn her abstract "forgiveness", and ensure her safety first and foremost, regardless of whether we read snily as romantic or platonic. Tho it can definitely go many different ways, depending on how she behaves and what the context is! I really like the idea of him getting disullisioned with her after a jarring contrast of his curated for years, idealised version, and an alive stubborn teenager. I don't think it's possible that he'd stop caring AT ALL without like a decade long, intense character arc explaining how). He'd still care about Malfoys, too, and overall, i think he'd try to help the DEs (especially those younger then him) to avoid harm however much he can, aside from maaaybe the most insane, sadistic ones like Bella.
I think Severus would've felt personally responsible for saving everyone he physically can – probably even James, lol, considering the things he does for Sirius (to an extent even while thinking him a terrorist murderer responsible for Lily's death, and eager to murder children) and Remus, and that even as a 21yo he warns Albus about all the Potters, even if Lily's feelings and safety are the main concern. Adult Snape is a person who helps others, regardless of how unsafe or hard it is for him, or how much he doesn't like the person in danger, or how verbally mean he can be about it. We repeatedly see that he treats physical safety of other people as his responsibility and duty.
It's not to indicate that I, on a personal level, think this is morally superior. I think that's self-sabotage, hyperresponsibility, and a disfunctuonal way to cope with guilt that pushed Severus to be reckless or insensitive sometimes. But i absolutely can't see him just walking away and letting them all rot and kill each other as they please, or something like that. He lived because his death was "no use". We know that he'd loathe to run away like a coward, like Karkaroff – that's straight up canon; and strongly suspect he wouldn't choose to live a normal, peaceful life where he can't milk himself dry for the sake of others. He'd get himself deep into being "useful" again, because I'm not sure he even remembers how to do anything else. And this would've been one of the best things to possibly happen to literally everyone else in Magical Britain, btw, except for Voldemort and his most ardent supporters.
Severus: I am free of all prejudice. I hate everyone equally.
Severus: Okay, can we all stop saying stupid shit for a moment, please?!
Minerva: Alright.
Lockhart: Hey, I-
Severus: SHUT UP!
Lockhart: I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED MY SENTENCE!!
Minerva: It was bound to be stupid.
"It wasn't sexual assaul-" Suspending someone in air, stripping them while also making them choke on soap, amounts to sexual assault under any sane legal system.

I want to officially adopt Bertram Aubrey to the Snape fandom. Sev fans please vote below! And comment any other characters we can adopt!
Bertram is the guy hexed by James and Sirius btw.
Shall we adopt Bertram Aubrey?
Yes! Let's adopt him!
No :(
Do you like Severus being Dracos Godfather hc? If so, whats your headcanons abt them?
At first I liked the idea, but now that I’m a bit older, it just doesn’t work for me anymore. While Lucius might have treated Severus like a sort of younger brother or close ally, I don’t see that translating into something like choosing him as a godparent.
When it comes to families like the Malfoys, things like status and blood purity matter a lot. A role like godparent would almost definitely go to someone of equal or higher social standing and someone within their pure-blood circle. It’s not really the kind of position they’d give to someone outside that status, no matter how close they are personally.
In general, godparents in those kinds of circles tend to reflect the family’s social level. People might want someone higher status, but not really the other way around. So even if Lucius respected Severus, I don’t think he would choose him for something like that. However, I would say Severus would be Draco's favourite adult/uncle:)
