 “Oh. No, I’m not a psychic, I don’t think. But that’s okay- I don’t think I want to go into people’s minds. Some people have… real dark ones.” She shudders, as if she’s seen some kind of war horrors first hand. What the fuck?

 “Uh, why’s it called the brain tumbler? Sounds like it’d make… like.. brain slushies.”

“Uhh, no. It doesn’t really make brain slushies. But you know what? That’s a very good question... for Sasha to answer. I’m not the one who named it. But, hey, how would you know how dark minds can be unless you ARE a psychic? ... Hmmm..”

 “Uhm, wh..”

 “I’m afraid to.. ask, but. Uhm. What’s the brain tumbler?”  “…And can I go in it?

“Oh, I uh... Y’lnow what? I probably shouldn’t tell you, buut I’m gonna anyways. It’s this machine my mentor built where you can visit the collective conscience of the people around you and go to their mental mindscapes and stuff. Each one’s different, but only psychics can really go in there. Are YOU a psychic?”

    “No, you can’t,” Shadow says for what feels like the umpteenth time to the young Psychonaut, his eyes half-lidded and unimpressed. He’s never had much patience to begin with, but explaining that this was a TOP SECRET mission that meant the kid couldn’t run ahead and try to do things on his own was beginning to wear thin. Fingers find the bridge of his nose and pinch. Shadow draws in a long breath. Holds it. Releases. “If you run ahead, you run a high risk of getting caught, and G.U.N. would be…less than happy about that outcome. I’ll be doing the scouting.” Psychic powers or not, Raz’s invisibility was still subjected to a time limit. Shadow just had to use Chaos Control and rely on his speed. It was far safer.

    “Now shut it. We’re about to enter enemy territory.” It’s a half-beg, half-command. Shadow knows Raz is not very likely to listen.

“Yes I can! I’m a Psychonaut for a reason, man! Have a little more faith in me. I’m not gonna get caught!” Raz pouted, puffing out his tiny cheeks and sticking his tongue out. The little boy wasn’t exactly getting along well with this hedgehog thus far, because he wanted to do things HIS way. Honestly, he’s convinced he knows he’s more than capable of taking down this baddie himself. Yes, he does understand that it’s a TOP SECRET mission, but just because it’s top secret doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be allowed to have fun! He just wants to get this mission over with, and this hedgehog guy isn’t making it any easier. What, just because he works with G.U.N. does he think he’s above him? That thought alone is enough to make the Psychonaut’s blood boil!

Under normal circumstances, Randy usually would be down for some chaos, but .. honestly? Right now was a REALLY bad time. He’s had his fill of crazy antics for the day, and he JUST got out of destanking a monster, so... he’s gonna try to approach Hat Kid and maybe convince her not? to set those off? He leans over her, arms folded and an eyebrow raised. “Yyyeahh ... okay, how about, maybe -- and this is just me spitballing here -- we don’t! Set them off in the middle of a mall. Cuz I mean. I know a better place we can go, if you REEEALLY wanna get crazy.”
