A little hack to get the Chrome search bar to encrypt and anonymize your searches:

 Open up Chrome/Preferences, click Settings.

Scroll down to "Search".

Click "Manage Search Engines"

Scroll to the bottom of the list.

In the first two fields, put cool names for your anonymous Googler.

In the URL field, paste: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s!g+

  This will make your search bar ask DuckDuckGo to search google for you, bringing you to an encrypted google search results page, and anonymizing the source of the request.
