“i never heard of it. weird. doesn’t look that bad, i’m sure it’ll be as nice as you make it sound. oh -- it’s nice to meet you, haley. i’m tidus.”

“yeah, i guess. not too shabby. a little on the simple side, though. what’s that supposed to mean?”

            “stonefield,” arya offers, jumping on one end of a stick to split it in half. “c’mon, i wanna set something on fire and you’re going to help.”

“pretty weird name for an island... if it is one.” he walked to the other end of the stick, setting his foot on top of it. “like this?” tidus asked, gradually adding more force with his leg.

“england, stonefield, england to be exact. welcome.”

“thanks. do you happen to be a native from here?”

“You’re in Stonefield, UK. Seriously they should start handin’ out maps to people who show up here.”

“so i’m not a first? has anyone seen how they show up here?”

barrel wanted to groan loudly and obnoxiously. coupled with an eye roll. instead his expression remained neutral and his tone dry. ‘stonefield.’

“stonefield? oh.” tidus scratched the back of his neck, looking around. “well, sorry if i was a bother.”

“stonefield. a woefully non-existent town in england.”

“i guess you’d know that more than i do. do you happen to be a native from here?”

“stonefield. it’s a weird place so it will take a lot of adjusting.”

“i’ve been to a few of those. why is it weird anyway?”

“oh, we don’t get told, it just…happens.” she laughs. “you’re funny. no, there are no stonefields here. hm, about…a month or so? i’m not very good at keeping time.”

“that’s a bit unfortunate for anyone who thinks there are. a misleading island -- i think. is this an island?”

“Not in this place, many have tried but unfortunately, it’s not a trick.”

“hold on a second... how is that possible? have you tried it yourself?”

“well, at least it’s very nice around here! and this is stonefield, it’s either in the england or the uk. i’m a bit confused about all of the proper titles.”

“uh... pretty long name for an island... city... or village? what’s this place supposed to be?”

   ‘ That’s too good of a joke to be REAL. I love it. Right, well, you look about as clueless as me, so tell me, what brought you to this place, huh? ’

“man, i wish i could say... but as far as i know so far, i woke up here. and that’s it. i guess there’s not much to it than that. did the same happen to you?”

“well, i wanna hear all about it.” he smiled down at her, enveloping his hands with her own. “i was gonna look around, too. you should come with me. you can tell me all about it along the way. how’s that sound like to you?”

“or do i?” he joked, smirking. “really? well, i still see the same yuna i met a few years ago.” or so he would assume. tidus tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, his smirk faltering into a warm smile. “what did change?”
