Um…yeah, I- I uh, I think so. Yeah. [a door slams in the distance]

Right. Okay. That’s- that’s good, um. Yes, so that means…um, that means that you’re ready to leave. It’s been slow going, but you’re showing lots of uh- lots of progress. So…[takes a sip of water] can you explain what you know?

I was…I was, like, in an accident, right? Some sorta- some, like, sort of accident that messed with my head and- and you’re my doctor and I’m like…man I don’t- I don’t remember much, to be honest. Just this stuff here with, uh, with you.

That’s okay, don’t worry. So you…you- sorry, you don’t remember the bathroom?

[coughing] what? The- the- it’s uh, down the hall and—

[cutting him off] no, Adam the…[slightly quieter] the chains? The saws?

…what?

No, that’s okay. Don’t worry about it.

Did the accident like take place in uh- like a bathroom? That’s embarras— [unidentifiable squishing and ripping sounds] oh! Oh, sorry I- sorry, the hand again I uh- it—

That’s okay, we can stop for now. I’ll fix it.

Are you sure? [more faint squelching] [chair creaks]

Yes, don’t worry. I’m going to be doing a lot of these now that you’re fully awake and mobile. This is enough for— [loud clatter, police siren in the far distance] [the recording is silent aside from the breathing of the two individuals]

//ooc stuff and much-needed explanations!! ->

this is a Saw AU inspired by Frankenstein in which most everything plays out exactly the same. Lawrence escapes and becomes an apprentice à la Saw 3D, and Adam dies in the bathroom. The difference, however, is that Lawrence simply cannot let go of Adam and begins his experiments and grave-robbing escapades in order to raise his friend from the dead. Which he accomplishes successfully! Well, mostly successfully. Here’s the rundown:

• Adam has severe amnesia. Lawrence is working on this, however he tiptoes carefully around anything related to Jigsaw or their experience in the trap.

• Adam is not fully aware that he is dead, and has a tendency to dodge questions about his “accident”, “condition” and other such things. Either because he doesn’t know, doesn’t want to know, or has suspicions about what may or may not be true.

• his limbs and such have a tendency to fall off sometimes.

• he is a fully autonomous human being, please don’t baby him. He won’t appreciate it.

• he is a recluse, for obvious reasons.

• Dr. Gordon did none of this out of malicious intent, and Adam is not living a tortured life. In fact, both of them are simply happy to be alive together, albeit fundamentally changed. This is a story about hurt/comfort, rehabilitation, and deep platonic love!

• Adam uses Tumblr to socialize so everything minus this post is in character, including any random reblogs he likes lol.

• he and Lawrence are on the run and currently both presumed dead (which is half true in Adam’s case, I suppose lol). They move around every few months or so, and he’s definitely suspicious about Lawrence’s apprentice activity, but doesn’t have all the information quite yet. He’s sneaky and chronically curious though, so it’s only a matter of time.

• he’s still Adam! Still snarky, still a smoker, still a little down on his luck and a bit confrontational, but he’s a little gentler. A little kinder. A little more open. Whether that’s a good thing or not is up to you. :3
