and while i'm at it maul shadow lord suffered from a similar case of too short and too few episodes and spending too much of the already limited run time on side characters that quite honestly nobody gaf about. and i'm saying this as someone who mostly enjoyed the series, but whenever i rewatch it i just skip the lawson & co scenes because why the hell were they spending so much time on that lol. time which could have and should have been spent on devon and daki and maul and his followers instead, specially the relationship between maul and devon which was the whole damn point of the series. we got to know absolutely nothing about maul's followers before they all started getting killed off unceremoniously and some of those deaths didn't even get a reaction from the other characters at all. we know more about fuckin vario than those nightbrothers or rook or spybot. and he gets to live. also the fact that apparently maul's breakdown in the creeping fear, which was the most character defining moment in the entire season, wasn't even originally in the script and it was his voice actor that had to beg for it to be included is fucking crazy lol

well now that the second season is finally over i can say that was mid as hell lol. the first season was so good, what da hell happened here? they tried to do too much and just ended up doing nothing at all. the season and the episodes are already so short and then they decide to spend so much of the already limited run time on stuff that didn't matter instead of just focusing on the task at hand. what was the point of having a whole episode about morph and wolverine only to set them aside and their situation to remain unresolved? and another whole episode setting up sabretooth's idiot son as the villain for the next season instead of focusing on the villain that was already here this season. and as much as i love polaris, specially this version of her, they didn't need to spend a whole episode on her only for her to end up not even being that relevant. weird ass pacing. so much stuff happened offscreen. death gambit barely did anything before going back to normal. apocalypse barely did anything before being defeated. no horsemen. magik showing up for five seconds before dying in the stupidest way possible. wolverine character assassination. jubilee and storm hairstyle assassination. ohhh well. hopefully next season will be better lol
