THE PACK SURVIVES

    ❝ mama says you tell the best stories, ❞ although, it would not seem so from the manner in which her mother dismisses him, she can see into her wolf like heart, knows the truth that lies within —– she cares for him as much as she suspects he does for her. so she sits down before the giant storyteller, patiently awaiting a riveting tale. @talltalkr​ 

     ❝ the harbinger, is she around ? ❞ he speaks with a calm air of self assurance ( more to the point than arrogant, his demeanor eerily reminiscent of the very warrior he sought ) as he makes his way into jorrvaskr’s main hall. moving past the other to snatch an apple from the banquet table. perhaps two, and a sweet roll, a turkey leg, he has a plate in his hand now. his interest in the other’s response waning as he pulls a chair out and makes himself comfortable. no point in waiting with an empty stomach.

   ❝ ….if it is, hulda makes the best sweet rolls, ❞ with a warm smile she points towards the bannered mare, ❝ you should try one. i was headed that way to get more carrots for stella, ❞ nestled safely in the basket the young imperial had in tow was a grey hare, her newest rescue, asleep amidst a soft pile of hay. she offers them a quick peek before shielding the creature once more.

     ❝ –o-okay, ❞ fear washes over her in droves but she musters what courage she can to continue pressing onward, she didn’t like the look of this, something felt wrong, oh so very wrong, the very air thick with ominous warning. her mother would want her to be brave, to trust that she is safe in the alpha’s capable hands, so she inhales deeply, yet remains one step behind him, just in case.   ❝ do you see anything ? ❞ anything intending to make a meal out of them both ?
