This is a very good question.

At the end of the day, the original trilogy, at least two films are the best thing thats ever come out of the franchise and i dont think theres really much room to argue about that. HOWEVER

Star wars rebels is right up my ally. Star wars rebels is fucking great. Animation is bad blah blah blah donnnnttt care the story relling in that is unparelled. Found family shows are the absolute best thing to exist ever in all of human history and with such a great backdrop as the begining of the centralized rebellion? Beautiful. So good. It pays tribute to the prequels and the clone wars as well as the orginal trilogy while never letting that get in the way of the story line of the show. It also balances the two sides of star wars, the mystic force uses, and the much more grounded anti facist/anti captalist storylines so weellll. No the animation is not state of the art, even compared to the latter seasons of the clone wars, but the story telling makes up for it so well.

In my dreams, we will one day get an animated show in the same style set during the orginal trilogy with luke, leia, han and chewie. IN MY DREAMS FILONI.

I think as a whole the animated side of star wars, particularly post disney is a lot more.... genuine. probably because certain excutives care less about it.

Andor was great. Theres no denying that. I have some issues, but it was phenominal. But for those of us who enjoy both sides of star wars, the only thing that really holds up is the first season or two of the mandolorian, and the obi-wan kenobi show.

End statement: overall i wish we could have genuine creatives and fans be left alone to make great star wars instead of priortising cash grab live action stuff, but alas.

god I need to finish rebels I love it so much so far too but things keep getting in the way ugh 😭.

I rlly love the rots novelization and literally every Vader comic ever considering they're just Vader being depressed and angsting and stuff :,). (I'd put tcw as I DO rlly enjoy the show but it does butcher the characterizations of some of the characters I like)

(but it also introduces ahsoka so i can never truly hate it 🥹)
