Fork rebuild update: stanchion tube on the left was absolutely frozen into the lowers. So, what did I do? I froze the parts, literally. It's an old trick I learned for getting mechanical components separated. The metal contracts just a bit when thrown in the freezer. I am in the disassembling and cleaning stage of a fork rebuild...these forks are from 1996 off of an old diamondback. I will be replacing the rebound elastomers with steel springs, and then beef up the pink compression elastomers with some extra polyurethane inserts. I'll also throw in some oil to smooth things up. Installed a new #thermostat on the #truck today, which hopefully fixes the heat fluctuation problem I've been having. If not, then it's on to checking if the cooling fan is faulty or lastly the water pump may be going out :(
