basics of a weekly spread
hello!! and welcome to a quick guide on how to set up a weekly spread in your bujo, Ć la aurie style (thatās me!) weekly spreads are hella handy for planning your week out, keeping track of your day-to-day to-dos, AND having space to fill up with other information youād like to keep!
although there are many variations of what a weekly spread can entail, iāve found this format to be useful to me as a student with lots of projects, homework and after-school events. itās helped me to keep up with my workload, as well as pick out days where i can fit in a study session or a day out with my friends :)
so without further ado, *drumroll please* let me breakdown each part of this spread to you!
week title
a very simple header that tells me the month and dates of this week! some people prefer having a mini calendar next to this so they can tell which week of the month it is, but i use my school terms instead. in this case, iāve written T2W2 as a short form for term 2 week 2!
overview of your week
this is used in conjunction with your daily spaces! i stick to a simple legend for events, special days and tasks, but you can create your own version.
in the table iāll write down events like my training schedules, consultations with teachers, project submissions etc. note that you shouldnāt be writing specific tasks like āfinish chemistry reportā in this table, but rather under a daily space.
daily spaces
so this is where your individual tasks go! to make it easy on your eyes, iād recommend having the headers - which are really just the name and/or date of the day - a different colour from what the colour youāll be writing your tasks in.Ā
with daily spaces, you can allocate tasks to whichever day youād like to do it on, and easily migrate it over to another day if needed.
tracker
tbh this is something i donāt always add but i do like the idea of trackers. I tend to use mine to note down how much i sleep each day, but of course, you can track other things such as the number of hours you study or spend on ig.
trackers act as a good motivatorĀ because it can make you more aware of how much time you are doing a particular activity, and subsequently, you can adjust your time spent for the better!
next week
like the tracker, i donāt add this to every weekly spread but it keeps me in check when i know i have a lot of events or submissions due next week.Ā
also, if you do your spreads way in advance then you most likely wonāt need this because you can simply write events on your next spread! unfortunately, i have a proclivity to procrastinate setting up my spreads so i need a space to write next weekās significant days down.
design
the look of your weekly spread will vary depending on your preferences. personally, i love having some colour while keeping the spread to a more minimalistic style.Ā
some ways you can vary your design: ⬩ colour scheme ⬩  font (of header & daily spaces) ⬩  design of weekly overview table ⬩  rearrange format of spread!! switch things up here and there ⬩  doodles ⬩  add stickers or pictures in
and thatās it! hopefully for those who are struggling to find a suitable system they like using this may help you. do drop me an ask if thereās any other aspect of this that youād like me to explain, or you have other questions about my bujo and weekly spreads! thank youĀ ĖĖŹ(Ā“ā”`)ÉĖĖ
things that made me stop wanting to die that require no effort whatsoever
change the color used to highlight text on your laptop
move the pictures on your wall
stack whatever clutter is in your room into piles even if you donāt have time to clean it all
slightly vary your commute, even just by one street
change where you sit and scroll aimlessly on your phone even if itās only to the chair in your room instead of your bed
drink water or juice out of a wine glass in the morning because nothing is real
shower with the lights off, without music
buy $3 flowers at trader joeāsāthey look bad next to the more expensive ones but they look so good in your room
start typing things you donāt post into your notes. your thoughts can be worth documenting even if you donāt deem them worth sharing
wake up super early just once. you donāt have to make it a habit itās just extra satisfying to go to bed that night
listen to the entirety of your favorite album from 2015
Almost all of these are about variety. Humans need stimulation! We need enrichment! We literally cannot do the same thing every day!
The other day I was feeling miserable, so I hopped on a bus and rode it all the way back to where Iād started, and my brain, which had finally had some proper stimulation via new environments, was suddenly ready to go again!
This is why taking walks/drives and trying new hobbies are good for you! Donāt turn yourself into a sad zoo animal! You need some pumpkins to roll around in your enclosure!
Donāt turn yourself into a sad zoo animal
the fourth period is fiNALLY ENDING AND I CAN LIVE AGAIN!! so much to do! so much stress!!! i get to breathe and do other stuff that are not school related.
how are you? whatās up?

Happy New Year! You probably didnāt notice I was gone but Iām back. I canāt guarantee as much activity as I used to have in 2017. Havenāt been active lately as have moved across the country and started Uni so.... itās a bit hectic at the moment. I also have a case of fresher flu which is bumming me down. Anyway, hereās my March fortnight spread. Iāve been going for a more minimalistic look recently due to time/laziness/lack of arts and crafts tools or skills. I hope you see more of me. Not making any promises though. This is not a platform or community I rely on for studying motivation, which is why I was more active a couple years ago. The followers and notes make no difference. Iām just here to share and enjoy a life skill and hobby that others enjoy in organising their lives.
Wishing you all happiness and sunshine (none where I am at the moment š„ŗ). Happy studying and hope you all take a moment to make yourself a cup of tea! Maybe wake up a bit earlier for a stroll in nature. Stop listening to strongheaded people whose opinions make you anxious. Listen to music that makes you feel sparkly in your bones, even if itās the most popular Ariana Grande song. Take your time to get up and make your bed. Clean your room if itās slowing you down. Take the time to sort some things out and make your life a little easier! Talk to your friends and family at mealtime. Light a candle and maybe drink some rosĆ©! Dance and have a boogie and sleep like a baby. Eat some choccies and eat some fruit. Drink some milk - itās more hydrating and contains more electrolytes than water and Gatorade etc.
I donāt know how this turned into a cute self love rant. Stay happy folks and remember that change comes about more powerfully through actions rather than words.
Enjoy 2019 š„°š¤ and donāt forget to yeehaw.
[ 10.10.17 ] last weekās weekly spread!! i recently found my coloring book by Kristina Webb, and i opened it and saw her signature from 2015 when i met her! so i decided to put it in my bullet journal :)

Current desk situation: organic chem notes from last year, current notes, overflowing binder of things to do (including a grant proposal due in a few months????), biochem and chem textbook that I neglected until too late (do yourself a favour and donāt fall behind on readings). Not seen in this picture: post-lab reports that I havenāt finished because I have a biochem midterm in a few days, my personal lab notebook (I also accidentally brought home my official lab notebook oops), and papers, papers, papers everywhere. On the plus side Iām finally out of my studying slump!
(The flowers are for Chinese New Year, letās hope I donāt kill them this time)
