The relationship between Jackson and Erik is that, originally, Jackson was going to kill Erik. But when the time came, he ended up becoming a little too attached to him and decided to let him live instead. At first, it was more like a "pet" treatment, with Jackson keeping Erik around because he found him entertaining. Later on, Jackson could ended up using Erik to help clean up the mess that he and his brother left behind.
Jackson liked the way Erik reacted to pain and enjoyed being deliberately unpleasant to him because of those reactions as well. He found it amusing to push Erik's buttons and see how he would respond. When Erik first tried to escape, Jackson simply brought him back home by force. When it happened a second time, though, he started using more violence, breaking one of Erik's legs to prevent him from leaving the farm again.
I believe it's an obsessive relationship on Jackson's part, while Erik gradually just started to accept it, lol! :))
