Cutting ties with Flash
After the latest Flash debacle I’ve decided to cut ties with Flash on all my browsers. If you’ve been living under a rock there was news yesterday of yet another flash bug which is being exploited in the wild. The bug allows attackers to take over a system when a user opens an infected flash file.

I’m following the lead of Krebs on Security (http://krebsonsecurity.com/2015/06/a-month-without-adobe-flash-player/) and cutting ties with Flash. The past several years I’ve been using add-on tools such as no-script (https://noscript.net/) or Flashblock (https://addons.mozilla.org/En-us/firefox/addon/flashblock/). Both made life secure but a little more difficult. I find that, like Brian Krebs, I hardly interface with websites where Flash is used. If I do and I must view the content I can simply spin up a VM from ISO on VirtualBox.Â
