i like the nod krai fae
Basically how the time travel fics go
genuinely curious pls respond
people always say that internet spaces are americanised because the users are majority americans.
and i do always wonder how much of that is "there are actually a majority of usamericans" and how much is "usamerican cultural markers are a default for many online spaces, and non usamericans are often indistinguishable from usamericans unless you're actively looking".
so here's an incredibly unscientific poll reblog for reach or whatever
where do you live?
in the usa
anywhere that is not the usa
no nuance. if you live in a usa territory/colony like puerto rico or guam or american samoa, go with your heart.
additional poll, what the hell:
is english your first/native language?
yes, english is the main language i grew up speaking
yes, but i also grew up speaking another language(s)/i'm bilingual
no, i learned english as a second or additional language
itās funny that people on twitter hate tumblr so virulently bc i get it if you are logging on for the first time in 2025 tumblr probably does suck. however i wouldnāt know because i have been carefully curating my dash experience and mutual circle since 2011 and my circle of tumblrinas taken by itself is the greatest social networking site of all time
I think the main reason for this is that tumblr is the searchability equivalent of everyone hiding in the host's bedroom at a party to smoke weed. You're not supposed to find people on purpose, and even if you search through every room in the house you won't be having the same experience as hanging out for years and wandering into the room on accident.
And yet that's pretty much how everyone builds their mutualcules

Thinkin about that scene at the end of three with the wayfinder trio at Eraqusā grave
Is it customary to bury/memorialize a wielder by sticking their keyblade in the ground? Is that what is really going on with the keyblade graveyard? Is it literal, Sora and co. were stomping around on the literal graves of hundreds of child soldiers?Ā
Who buried them. Which compassionate Dandelion did that, assigned themselves the task of laying all the casualties of the Keyblade War to rest, painstakingly matching keys to bodies, deliberately arranging everything in the pattern of the crossroads, of choices, of actions taken and paths chosen?Ā
Why is this even tradition, if, as weāve seen with Brain and Eraqus, itās customary to pass your keyblade onto your descendants/apprenctices? Why are keyblades such a rare resource, if thereās hundreds at the graveyard? What if, when itās wielder dies, a blade can pass on to their pupil, or, if thereās no one left just. Die. Along with its master.
If you attempted to pick up a keyblade at the graveyard, would it even budge?
Maybe everyone got so excited about Sora and the Kingdom Key in kh1, not because there isĀ āonly one keybladeā, but because this is the first one in centuries that has chosen a new wielder?
Now you see, Iāve watched enough cartoons to know that this square of the carpet is on a separate animation cell from the background & therefore something funky will happen if I step on it. You wonāt catch me making a rookie mistake like that no sir!
Did you step on it?
I forgot it was there & stepped on it, plummeting through the concealed trapdoor into the cellars. Please send help.
Help itās on its way!
By the way, are the bricks all the same colour?
I canāt see anything! Itās pitch black down here. All thatās visible is my eyes.
Just make sure there isnāt a second, more dangerous pair of eyes somewhere around yours
Uh oh!!

Las leyes de la fĆsica son inquebrantables.
This is legitimately the funniest thing ive ever seen
im going to have a stroke
Instead try⦠Person A: You know⦠the thing Person B: TheĀ āthingā? Person A: Yeah, the thing with the little-! *mutters under their breath* Como es que se llama esa mierda⦠THE FISHING ROD
As someone with multiple bilingual friends where English is not the first language, may I present to you a list of actual incidents I have witnessed:
Forgot a word in Spanish, while speaking Spanish to me, but remembered it in English. Became weirdly quiet as they seemed to lose their entire sense of identity.
Used a literal translation of a Russian idiomatic expression while speaking English. He actually does this quite regularly, because he somehow genuinely forgets which idioms belong to which language. It usually takes a minute of everyone staring at him in confused silence before he saysĀ āā¦.Ahā¦.. that must be a Russian one thenā¦.ā
Had to count backwards for something. Could not count backwards in English. Counted backwards in French under her breath until she got to the number she needed, and then translated it into English.
Meant to inform her (French) parents that bread in America is baked with a lot of preservatives. Her brain was still halfway in English Mode so she used the wordĀ āprĆ©servatifes.ā Ended up shocking her parents with the knowledge that apparently, bread in America is full of condoms.
Defined a slang term for meā¦ā¦. with another slang term. In the same language. Which I do not speak.
Was talking to both me and his mother in English when his mother had to revert to Russian to ask him a question about a word. He saidĀ āI donāt knowā and turned to me and askedĀ āIs there an English equivalent forĀ ŠŃŠ¼ŠøŠ·Š¼Š°ŃŠøŃŠµŃŠŗŠøŠ¹?ā and it took him a solid minute to realize there was no way I would be able to answer that. Meanwhile his mom quietly chuckled behind his back.
Said an expression in English but with Spanish grammar, which turnedĀ āHow stressful!ā intoĀ āWhat stressing!ā
Bilingual characters are great but if youāre going to use a linguistic blunder, you have to really understand what they actually blunder over. And itās usually 10x funnier thanĀ āOoops itās hard to switch back.ā
I use Spanish and English daily, none is my native language. When Iām tired or did not have enough sleep I loose track of who to address in which language; Ā I caught myself explaining something in Spanish to my English-speaking friends more than once. When Iām REALLY tired Iāll throw some Polish words in the mix.Ā
There is nothing more painful than bad fake Spanglish by an American writer. Bilingual people donāt just randomly drop words in nonsensical places in their sentences ffs.Ā āIām muy tired! I think Iāll go to my cama and go to sleep!ā Nobody does that.
From my bilingual parents:
- Only being able to do math in their original language.Ā āOk so that would beeeeee ⦠*muttering* ocho por cuatro menos tresā¦ā
- Losing words and getting mad at you about it.Ā āGimme the - the - UGH, ESA COSA AHIā CARAJO. The thing, theĀ oven mitt. Christ.ā
- Making asides to you in Spanish even though youāve told them to not do this as lots of people here speak Spanish.Ā āOye, mira esa, que cara fea.āĀ āMOM FFS WEāRE IN A MEXICAN NEIGHBORHOOD.ā
- Swears in English donāt count.
- Swears in Spanish mean youād better fucking run, kid.
- Introducing you to English-only Americans using your Spanish name so that they mispronounce your name for all eternity because thatās what your mom said your name was.Ā āHi Dee-yanna!āĀ āsigh, Just call me Diana.āĀ āYeah but your mom said your name was Dee-yanna.āĀ
- Your parents give you a name that only makes sense in Spanish.Ā āYour name is Floor?āĀ āNo, my name is Flor.āĀ āFLOOR?āĀ āSigh.ā
Ā - conjugating English words with Russian grammar and vice versa. Sometimes both at once, which is extra fun.Ā ŃŠ°Š¼Š¾Š»ŠµŃ ->Ā ŃŠ°Š¼Š¾Š»ŠµŃŠ°Ń ->Ā ŃŠ°Š¼Š¾Š»ŠµŃаŃŃ
- when vice versa, dropping English articles entirely. The, a, an: all gone. e.g. āI go to store and buy thing, I fix car and go to place.ā This also happens when i am very tiredĀ
- speaking English with heavy accent you donāt actually have - when my family and I are switching over fast, we say the English words in a very heavy Russian accent that mostly doesnāt show up otherwiseĀ
bonus:Ā
- keysmashing in the wrong language when your keyboard is still switched over
- using ))))) instead of :))) or other culture-specific emoji/typing quirks
all of the above
I donāt actually speak Tagalog, but my momās Filipino. One of my favorite things is when she forgets how to preposition, so something isĀ āin the tableā.Ā
SOMEHOW I NEVER REBLOGGED THIS?!?!?!?!? this is one of my absolute favorite posts on all of tumblr also, to add to the pile of fun things bilinguals do: cackling over bilingual puns that nobody else in the room will get and then being completely unable to explain why this is funny
Interesting. Reblogging this for future reference.
my favourite is that feeling when you have the perfect response to something but halfway through saying it you realised itās in a language the other person doesnāt speak so you either just kind of⦠fade out, or try desperately to make it make sense in the other language
I lose my place all the time when Iām counting in English, but never when I count in German.
Iām swedish but at this point Iām so fluent in english that I can switch between languages on a dime.
i hate forgetting a word in english and having to describe but realizing that i cant describe it in english. so im just stuttering between russian and english and none of my english speaking friends can help
in singapore, we speak a dialect called singlish, which is just english with chinese grammar rules, plus some malay and indian words
Iām learning Japanese on duolingo and for some reason my brain decided that the Japanese language files should go into the same folder as my Italian lessons I had back in school.
Once I wanted to say āHis name is Wolfgangā in Italian and what came out was āWolfgang 㯠chiamoā, which doesnāt make sense in ANY grammar.
This actually reminds me of listening to my mom speak Spanglish when on the phone with her sister. Iād love to have learned if there were any patterns in which words came out as English or Spanish, but between them there didnāt seem to be any misunderstandings.
Rockman Series- Rockman Zero (Megaman Zero)
this is the funniest piece of graffiti iāve ever seen. thank you mr two pens
Igor regretted that he had not met the Trickster sooner.Ā For one thing, the newest guest of the Velvet Room was quite an interesting spirit, brimming with potential and establishing a strong network of bonds even while under the malicious and misguiding advice of a false god.
For another, had they met sooner, perhaps some of the damage to the young manās heart might have been prevented.Ā Though his cell door had opened, the Velvet Room itself retained the facade of a prison.
And the executions were continuing.
Igor had clarified, of course, that persona fusion did not have to take such macabre form. To take the aspects of two familiar personas and find new strength from them was an act of creation, not destruction.Ā He had produced the cards, performed the ritual.
The result had not been as strong as it should have been, and the Trickster picked up on that immediately.Ā āIām on a deadline,ā he said, because Yaldabaoth had fused Mementos with the real world.Ā Red rainwater leaked from his boots.Ā Ā āLetās stick to what works.ā
His gray eyes were challenging, and Lavenza stepped between the two of them.Ā Her eyes, the same yellow as her brotherās and sistersā, were wary in a way her siblingsā had never been, despite the polite smile set on her face.Ā Ā āMaster, I can perform executions for him.Ā I am quite adept at it.Ā Please, save your strength.ā
Still so young, she had very little guile: it was blatantly obvious that she was trying to shield the Trickster from any anger his words might stir, as though Igor would rage simply from being contradicted.Ā Her siblings had never been ordered to execute their own guest.Ā She was well aware that it was an imposter who had given the order, and yetā¦
Igor was still too tired for the anger he felt at Yaldabaoth for putting doubt into both of the children in front of him.Ā He gave a weary nod.Ā Ā āThe executions may very well prove more useful to you,ā he said to the Trickster.Ā Ā āThis room is shaped after your heart, after all.āĀ If he believed the executions more powerful, they would beā¦though Igor now wanted to pinpoint the source of that belief.Ā He had seen through Yaldabaothās other lies, but not this one?Ā āThen, Lavenza, please assist our guest to the fullest.ā
