If you're reading this, it means you've found the chest I mentioned in my previous letter. You'll be pleased to know it's contents belong to you.

After I spoke with the emperor regarding additional resources to aid in your quest, he was willing to part with these items from his personal collection. Although he was stubbornly cryptic regarding their origins, he did mention they were diplomatic gifts from distant kingdoms. The tiger armor is specifically designed to suit a western ruler - obviously Emhyr in this case. It was forged in the ancient style of a blacksmith who stole the secrets of its construction from their gods... Or so the legend goes. The swords, to my eye, resemble a Redanian saber, though I'm no expert. These blades supposedly once belonged to a hero of myth and mystery. The man forged a pact with a vixen spirit and, through her blessing, was granted the ability to slay the monsters that had long plagued his village. As you'll notice, he carried both steel and silver sword - a fact I thought might pique your interest.

Unfortunately, legends are all I can offer. As I said, Emhyr was stingy with details - even more so than usual. It's a shame because I must admit I haven't the faintest idea where they might originate. That being said, I do believe Zerrikania and Ofier can safely be ruled out.

I had a feeling we wouldn't have a chance to talk before Vizima, so I leave you this message. I know there's much we both wish to say, but there will come a time for that later. In any case, a letter is no plave to broach topics of such importance to us both.

So, why I write you now: you have something waiting for you at the royal palace in Vizima. Consider it a gift from Emhyr and myself. Yu can pick it up at your leisure after your audience with him. When you exit the throne room, simply follow the covered walkway in the courtyard, turning right at the corner, then take the first door on your left. You'll be inside a chamber with a fireplace. Take the door in the back to the adjoining room. There, under the window, you'll find the chest with your gift. But in case these directions prove too complicated for you, I'm certain the chamberlain would not hesitate to lead you there himself. Expert tracker that you are, however, I expect you'll manage.

Gustab. I've got something to ask of you. I've come into the possession of quite the stash of valuables. Don't ask how - modestly prevents me fro trumpeting the heroic deeds I performed in the fight for our beloved fatherland. At any rate there's so damned much of it that there's no way in any hell I'll carry it back on my own, so I've put everything in a chest and buried it on the veach, at the base of the cliff with the two burned-out huts on it. You know, we'd go crayfish hunting there, remember?

So here's what you've got to do: grab a wheelbarrow, throw a shovel in it and take it to the beach - but make sure no one sees you. We'll load the treasure and sell it all in Vizima - and split the earninsgs fifty-fifty, like family should.

Bandits callig themselves "Temeria's Soldiers" are hiding in the nearby woods. They havebeen declared outlaws and a threat to the Emperor's subjects. Assisting or sheltering them in any way will be summarily punished to the fullest extent permitted by imperial law.

The witcher Kolgrim stands accused of kidnapping Vitty, son of Paul, a beekeeper residing in White Orchard. Suspect was detained pending trial. Upon detention he was searched and a diagram for the forging of a steel sword was found on his person. It is suspected this sword was used to intimidate or possibly kill the kidnapped child. It is likewise sispected that the accused posses other such diagrams for the forging of death-dealing implements, though none have been found to date. Sir Ignayius has requented the witcher undego preliminary interrogation with the application of torture. This will take place once a torturer with the proper qualifications has been found.

Burying the bodies of hanged deserters and rebels is hearvy strictly forbidden. Anyone caught trying to cut down hanging corpses will be summarily executed.

Hey, lads, there any among you that can lend me a plough? Thing is, mine smacked up against a stone in my field so hard it bent halfways, and may a fiend take me if I know how to fix it or plough my field without it.

Bastien, my brother, went off to fight the Black Ones. I've reason to think he stood in the great battle nearby. He's not returned to this day. Like many others, you'll say, and you'll be in the right. But if he fell, and I know it's like he did, I'd give him up to the ground at least, like our fathers have done always. I'd bury him 'neath the barrow where our parents lie, not leave his corpse to be ate by the corpsers prowling the battleground.

So I seek a man brave, able with a sword, and willing to venture with me to find bastien. I won't pay much, for I've not much to give, but I'm not stingy with gratitude and sure to show it aplenty.

Any man willing to help - look for a razed hut along the road to White Orchard, just near the bridge. I've made camp there.
