"I don't think even the junkyard has the parts to repair this ancient television. I don't even believe that shady guy said this thing was haunted either, to be frank with you, Vi."
"I know, I know.. I hear ya, bub." With a few chimps and beeps, the easy hisses of a front door garage begrudgingly open for the pair of paranormal investigators as the faint smell of oil leaked on to the desert air. "But thiiiiink about it! There's a possibility of it having a grade b tier ghoul inside, with the way that furry dude was describing it." A very excited voice, whom that probably had to be this 'Vivi' character, yips back.
"Besiiiides! Who know, it might be fun!" She sticks out her tongue a little in reply. "Just plop that thing down on the workbench for a little bit. Ya can work your magic a little on it while I give it a couple purification check overs."
"You're def keeping this thing, aren't you?"
"Mmmmm!" She hums back. "MMMMaybe..?"

What was it-- what pushed them away? Is it because he kept turning on at 2am playing soap operas? He gets lonely at night! Is that really grounds for giving away a beloved heirloom? A priceless, one of a kind TV? ... a friend?
Or maybe it was just the final straw on a pile of straws.
Now he's being handed off to these muchkins like some hand-me-down toy.

What do they even want with him anyways? Pardon his distrust, but he couldn't help but overhear the way they talk about him. It almost sounds like they want to... fix him? Like repairmen? But there's nothing wrong with him! Sure-- maybe a spa day and some deep tube dusting wouldn't hurt ( There's enough dust in this box to knit a sweater. ), but why? What does purification mean? Workbench? He's... antsy! He doesn't like this.
... Did they just say they might keep him?
The antennas on the TV, once laying somewhat short and limp, as if despondent... seem to expand and straighten ever so slightly when she vaguely suggests maybe keeping him. Or... maybe it just shook loose because he was placed down.
