I wish I had a magic button that would scan the entire Internet and block any media that mentions gaza, netanyahu, israel (by non-jews), palestine or genocide. I'm so fucking exhausted. I want to be able to enjoy content without getting jump scared out of nowhere and having to check another creator, show, company, etc on the list of stuff I have to avoid. no amount of filters, tag blocking, whatever helps at all. it's just exhausting. I'm sick of hearing about antisemitic attacks, policies, countries. I'm sick of hearing about what politicians are using israel as a stepping stone to try and get brownie points with dumb college people. I roll my eyes at the idiot bigots, but my heart breaks seeing otherwise educated people that genuinely believe that I am fundamentally evil.

Every day I wake up and get faced with news stories like "good news! they just made it illegal to grind endangered birds into bonemeal!" and in the comments someone is like "this is oversimplified, and only partially true: after decades of campaigning and like 3 of them left in the wild, we've gotten them to make it illegal to snatch specimens of this specific one species of super-endangered birds right out of the wild and throw them alive into the bonemeal grinder. They're still allowed to do that in every other condition except these specific parametres."

Seriously people? Do you actually think countries with de facto slavery like Saudi Arabia and Qatar and the UAE are taking any of those "fundamental rights of children" resolutions seriously? You know that China, Myanmar, Yugoslavia, Russia, Cambodia, Rwanda, Pakistan, and others are/were parties to the Genocide Convention at the times of their respective genocides? Do you seriously think Switzerland is going to punish Nestlé for its gross violations of the human right to clean water? Do you seriously think the US and Israel are the only bad countries in the fucking world?

Like I love talking to you guys and love the break from the insanity I get on here but the one type of convo I just have to bow out of is everyone reassuring themselves that the crazy antisemitic populist DSA takeover of the Democratic party isn't real/is overblown/is going to fizzle out and all these neo Nazis are totally gonna lose because it's just a lunatic fringe that's excited by them.

I was thinking today that if you're an American Jew you have to start considering whether you would like to move to Israel now of your own free will with whatever money you have intact or in 6- 10 years as a refugee with 95% of your net worth stolen in exit taxes
