and today, the radiance spirits are freed from below the map to look at the beautiful kites the skykids voted on the first round

it's a little sad that the ancestors couldn't show up for this year's event and in place of them are just dye pots, would it have caused issues if there were that many spirits in one place?

this year, the flight spirits and nesting guide got invited to make kites with us and i think that's really really cute!! i bet one of the flight spirits suggested it to radiance guide and the color guides as a fun new activity for the skykids to celebrate pride with

radiance guide and light whisperer are found sitting by the pot full of beige cloth sheets for you to dye and offer to talented builder, lively navigator or tinkering chimesmith

i wonder why light whisperer is sitting down instead of holding up a kite with the others, maybe they distribute the cloth when radiance is busy? (oh and i find it cute that they're right across navigator)

builder, navigator and chimesmith are holding up kites tied to tails/strings made of (what i assume is) light

flight guide's the only one that moves around and who you can interact with after deciding on a kite design, since they sell you different kite shapes to keep home! however, i was curious and followed them around for a while to see what they're doing

they're walking around the kite activity area, and stopping by the other flight crew members. they don't express other emotional gestures beyond the thinking emote, perhaps they're deep in thought about the kites they're designing?

(also really really love everytime flight stands by light whisperer, they look like siblings, it's adorable)

flight guide doesn't stand by nesting guide unlike the other spirits, and instead just passes by them, which is really funny to remember when flight routinely bumps into nesting as they walk by

nesting guide doesn't react like the others, and just keeps staring at chimesmith's kite

for a while, i was genuinely confused why nesting guide was invited because they don't do anything and aren't related to either the flight or radiance spirits, but i'm assuming they're just extra hands to help set up the big kite parade. or! either flight or radiance asked for their help with the kite spine construction, or both!

anyway this event's been the highlight of my week and i'm excited to see all the kites dyed, assembled and the spirits celebrate together at the end, yay!!!!

my favorite radiance spirit photo op has to be the one where they were off to a small island looking at all the kites in the sky. i wonder how radiance guide feels having to babysit so many skykids while their buddies are off being gay elsewhere

definitely an event i'll be thinking about for a while! i miss them already....

hosting another magma session from today until the end of june! going with the theme of pride for both canon and original characters :) but anything sky is fair game
