Trans men aren’t girls who want to be men or who are transitioning to become men. Trans men are men even before hormones. Trans women aren’t men who want to be women or who are transitioning to become women. Trans women are women even before hormones. Non-binary folks are non-binary even if they don’t chose to take hormones. Some trans people don’t even want to be on hormones at all and that doesn’t make their gender any less valid. Seeing all these comments on About Ray really show how some of you don’t even take the time to understand the trans community. We are like a news story you see on Facebook. Something you bring up to your friends for about five minutes and then don’t talk about it again. This is why cis people shouldn’t tell our stories, because they just don’t get it nor do they even take the time to get it. I’m so tired of this same conversation.
