At Gorst Flats astride Puget Sound, the Black Watch held, refusing to die, removing 'mech after 'mech from underneath the Dragoons. Losing Jefferson Hinks and Nathan Carlson, Schmitt decreed they'd say a prayer for them later as they continued to barrel through the ranks of the Dragoons. In minute after minute of continuous combat, the Watch gunned down 7 Dragoon battlemechs, having only lost Hinks in his Crockett and Carlson in his Thug. The Dragoons continued to pile onto them with all the firepower they could muster. For every Black Watch Mechwarrior killed, the Watch eliminated nearly quadruple the amount of Dragoon 'mechs. Schmitt's Atlas was severely damaged in the fighting, but still remained operational, as they deleted the Dragoons' lead command 'mech, a Marauder.
