I see everyone online planning cute outfits for the concert meanwhile I'm here like,,,, the forecast says it's gonna be 40°C in Florence on Tuesday and the location is literally a horse racetrack: lots of compressed dirt just waiting to rise and no tree in sight. The sun sets at 9pm and the temperature won't even drop under 30° before midnight. And for some ungodly reason the organisers decided to start letting us in at 3pm ????? Today I started a book a couple of friends gifted me a while ago called " 間 - spazio, intervallo" which is part of a series about Japanese culture dwelling transversally in different subjects starting from a word and its associated concept (this is so my shit words can't convey, great present). I open the first page and the name of not one but TWO of my professors are glaring at me. I CAN'T ESCAPE.

#there are only so many people in this field of study in this country‚ wtf did I even expect #a bit surreal still because I've been pretty close knit especially with one of these two and I know their quirks and oddities #my mind can't concieve them as some of the top scholars of their field anymore even if rationally I know it's true #personal

No shirt, no bra, completely bare torso, just like cis men are allowed to

It's about desexualizing breasts and "female presenting nipples" and not being criminalized for our bodies if we want to go topless because it's a million damn degrees out. This was a popular growing movement that was still widely known a decade ago!

And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade
