So yesterday we had a Human library at GMS, a lot of people around the okanagan showed up to talk about the life story and what there journey to the point there at in life right now. They talked about there job and how hard it is to get to the job there at.
Some of my favorite people to go and learn/ ask questions were Wesla Wong, I especially like to go to hers because she is our weather forecaster for the okanagan. Some of the things she talked to us about was when she was growing up and didn't know what she really wanted to be just like us. she told us that she went to University 2 times before she finally knew what she wanted to be. Wesla also talked to us about how she reads the weather and some of the tools she uses to read the weather ( weather radar 50000 meters up ) some of my questions we " do you get nervous about going on live television ? " " I still do even know i've been doing the job for a long time i still get that rush " or " Has anyone every complain abut the long range forecast " Wesla said " yes a lot of people think i can control the weather but i really arnt magic" . My other favorites were Loyal Woodrige because he explains how he was different middle school because he was gay, he explains how he over come that and cut hair for his career right now, he also explains how he has his own fundraiser to make people that are gay feel better about them self. i couldn't have anytime to ask questions because a lot of people were really curios to so here are some of the questions i heard " what was the worst hair style you have screwed up on ?" loyal replied " yeah once i accidentally high lighted a girls whole head " " how did your dad find out that you were different "? " Haha He read one of my emails and found out , him being that big tough guy it was really weird for him "
Some of the things i got outta the human library was that there were a lot of people that felt like giving up at a point but the kept at it to proceed the goal that they wanted to achieve.
That meant a lot to me cause sometimes when i am doing sports i feel like giving up and just quitting because ether the scores already too high and theirs not much time left or its on the last lap , they taught me to never give up and push harder.
The second thing was that even if you do get pushed around a lot it dose not matter what people think of you because you've got better things in life to worry about then other peoples judgement. that is the second best thing i pulled outta the human library because it really dose not matter what people say when they have nothing better to do there just there to put you down. There wasting there time to succeed in life.
