âTumblr has long promoted itself as a hub for artists and creative entrepreneurs. Now, Tumblr wants to put those people to work.
To that end, the company unveiled a new initiative, in which it plans to hand-pick some of its most popular artists and creative users and pair them up with brands who want to advertise across the popular blogging platform.
The program, Creatrs by Tumblr, plays on a simple thesis: For social networks, the most popular type of content bubbles up from the members who are most dedicated to using the site. Some popular Tumblr artists have used their huge online followings to sign book deals, sell their artwork or become celebrities inside their Tumblr world.
Tumblr wants to capitalize on that talent as well. In the program, the company will pair up artists with brands who purchase Tumblrâs advertising products â like so-called âsponsored posts,â which appear in usersâ Tumblr streams. Tumblr believes that can help a brand like, say, Subway, create a more authentic ad for Tumblr that wonât turn off users. âŚ
Tumblr says the program will also benefit artists as well. Selected artists will be paid for their work while being exposed to millions more people across Tumblr and, potentially, the wider audience that visits YahooâŚ
More than 300 artists have been tapped for the initial introduction of the program, though the company expects to recruit more talent if the Creatrs initiative gains momentum.â

Who Am I and What is it All For?
Stop scrolling. There we go. Ahem. This blog is called Tryptch Trope and I am your host Josane. My name is not pronounced the way it looks, rather it rhymes with a popular brand of bottled water. Bottled water is a funny thing because it's a billion-dollar industry built on something that literally falls from the sky.
So now you know that I have a weird name, my mind tends to wander, and that I appreciate irony.
I created this blog to challenge myself to stay engaged with the things that interest me. A triptych is a painting or relief encompassing three panels hinged together side by side. They were all the rage in the Middle Ages when you couldn't scroll down or swipe right to see something different. My favorite triptych is this one by Hieronymus Bosch called The Garden of Earthly Delights.
Triptychs allow the artist to convey multiple narratives at once and unify them through the use of stylistic or symbolic motifs. In the case of Earthly Delights you could say that the unifying motifs are naked white people and/or a general lack of fucks given about realism.
A trope is a significant or recurring theme. This blog is my triptych in that I generally be sharing work and ideas pertaining to literature, electronic music, and video games because those are the three things I like enough to write about consistently for no money. The trope unifying the triptych will be women as the creators and/or subjects of what I write about. Count on me to be drawn to stuff that is witchy, weird, and imaginative.
There you have it. Tryptych Trope. Yeah there's a y in place of an i. Get over it.
By the way, the other trope of this blog will be cats failing.
