Solana has launched native subscription and allowance infrastructure directly on its blockchain, giving developers a built-in way to set up recurring payments, delegated spending, and billing without writing custom software or routing through a centralized payment processor.

The program, called Solana Subscriptions and Allowances, is live on mainnet, open source, and audited by security firms Cantina and Spearbit. Any team building on Solana can start using it now.

A federal court in Delaware has dismissed a patent infringement lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase, ruling the underlying patent invalid and explicitly referencing Ripple’s framework as an example of existing blockchain infrastructure.

The Case

Australian fintech firm Identitii Limited had sued JPMorgan Chase in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, alleging the bank infringed its patent, known as the 413 Patent, which covers a method of attaching enriched data records to financial tokens on a blockchain network.

The Ruling

Judge Gregory B. Williams issued a memorandum opinion on May 29, 2026, invalidating the patent under Section 101 of the Alice doctrine, the legal standard used to reject patents that claim abstract ideas implemented on generic computer systems.

The court found that Identitii’s invention relied entirely on conventional, off-the-shelf technology rather than any novel technical contribution. In a notable passage, the opinion cited Ripple directly, stating that the 413 Patent itself allows the invention to be practiced on “the Ripple framework, protocol and gateway, or more generally any blockchain based framework.”

The reference was not incidental. It was the court’s way of demonstrating that the patent described nothing proprietary. If an invention can run on any existing blockchain, including Ripple’s publicly known infrastructure, it does not meet the threshold for patent protection under Alice.

Franklin Templeton says Wall Street fears blockchain because it threatens its profits

Jenny Johnson, Franklin Templeton's CEO, said blockchain and crypto threaten a huge number of business models that exist today in traditional finance.

The Sui blockchain status page is reporting another "major outage" less than a full 24-hours following its last event. The hyper-scalable blockchain hasn’t processed a block in nearly two hours, according to Suiscan.

"Sui mainnet is currently experiencing a network stall. Network activity may be paused at this time," the Sui team posted to X on Friday morning. "The Sui Core team is actively investigating. Updates and incident review will be shared as soon as they are available."

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon says blockchain technology will eventually replace large parts of the financial system infrastructure, even as he continues distancing himself from speculative cryptocurrencies.

Speaking at the Reagan National Economic Forum on May 29, Dimon said JPMorgan is already one of the largest users of blockchain technology and expects major changes across payments and settlement systems.

He pointed to JPM's deposit coin initiative, which already allows money movement around the clock.

"I do think it'll replace financial market infrastructure," Dimon stated.

He also acknowledged that crypto firms correctly identified inefficiencies in the current financial system.

"Fedwire is five days a week and 10 hours a day," Dimon said. "Why not six days a week, 20 hours a day?"

MoneyGram has launched its own stablecoin as it builds its blockchain payments infrastructure.

The native U.S. dollar coin, MGUSD, is designed less for crypto natives than for people who need to move money but don’t have access to traditional financial services, MoneyGram said in a news release Tuesday (June 2).

“The stablecoin market has largely focused on the asset itself. MoneyGram is taking a fundamentally different approach,” added Anthony Soohoo, the company’s CEO.

“Starting with our distribution platform, we’re using stablecoin as a foundation to build future applications on our global network. MGUSD is the stablecoin we built for our customers, for the families sending money home and for the billions of people around the world with limited financial access.”

In many markets, the company added, consumers deal with inflation, currency instability or lack access to reliable financial services. With MGUSD, those people get a “stable, dollar-denominated balance” they can hold and access 24/7, and move globally and convert into local currency as needed, MoneyGram said.

The accelerating media coverage of stablecoins, bolstered by forecasts of $4 trillion in adoption by 2030 and high-profile unicorn valuations for independent issuers, has created a sense of urgency among corporate and bank leaders.1 This fear of missing out is understandable given the rapid evolution of digital assets. However, transaction data suggests that market adoption is not as advanced as the prevailing narrative might suggest.

Despite high market expectations, global stablecoin activity remains modest when viewed through the lens of global payments. As of early 2026, total stablecoin circulation sits at a little more than $300 billion,2 with about 99 percent denominated in US dollars and 85 percent issued by Circle or Tether. This total has remained relatively unchanged over the past six months, even as the values of noncash assets issued on blockchains, such as Treasury funds and private credit, have increased by more than 30 percent.3 This leveling off of stablecoin circulation challenges the assumption that stablecoins are the default settlement asset and that other tokenized values grow in lockstep with it.

DTCC and the Stellar Development Foundation have announced plans to enable the tokenization of DTC-custodied assets on the Stellar network—a configurable, open-source blockchain used across securities, payment, and remittance applications.

The collaboration builds on the SEC No-Action Letter that DTC received in December 2025. The letter authorizes DTC to implement and operate a service that tokenizes real-world, DTC-custodied assets. Market participants will be able to leverage traditional assets in a digital ecosystem while retaining the same investor protections, entitlements, and safeguards consistent with those applicable to traditionally held securities.

An unknown actor broadcast a Bitcoin transaction Thursday evening embedding the full text of the U.S. Constitution onto the blockchain — permanently and without the possibility of removal.

The transaction, confirmed at 8:25 p.m. UTC on May 28, cost 113,454 satoshis, or about $83.41 in fees, and was processed by mining pool SpiderPool just 14 minutes after it hit the network.

At 44.4 kilobytes, the transaction is far larger than a standard Bitcoin transfer — its bulk comes from the Constitution’s full text, beginning with “We the People of the United States,” written into an OP_RETURN output field and recorded on-chain.

Hamilton Lane, a private markets investment firm, has announced the launch of a new tokenized share class providing access to the Hamilton Lane Global Private Assets Fund (GPA), developed in collaboration with Allfunds Blockchain, the digital innovation division of Allfunds, and Apex Group. BBVA Asset Management has committed to participate as the first investor and initial exclusive distributor for institutional portfolios of this new tokenized share class.

Crypto brokerage Blockchain.com said on Thursday it has confidentially filed for an initial public offering ​in the United States, as digital assets markets show signs ‌of a rebound after a choppy period.

Since a record crash in October, the crypto markets have remained under pressure as a broad risk-off mood took hold among ​investors, slowing the pace of new listings.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and the Stellar Development Foundation announced plans to enable DTC tokenized assets on the Stellar network, with availability expected in the first half of 2027. Stellar becomes the second public blockchain to connect to the service after the Canton Network, and notably neither chain is Ethereum compatible despite DTCC’s own AppChain running natively on EVM infrastructure.

The announcement advances DTCC’s multi-chain strategy following the December 2025 SEC no action letter that allowed DTC to tokenize custodied assets. The service covers highly liquid securities including Russell 1000 constituents, major index ETFs, and U.S. Treasuries. Limited live transactions are planned for July 2026 with a full launch in October 2026, although Stellar will not be ready at launch.

Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) has officially approved a new policy concept proposal to build the future financial system using AI and blockchain technology.

The proposal, titled "Next-generation AI & Onchain Finance Concept," was drafted by a project team within the LDP led by party member Seiji Kihara. It was submitted to the party earlier this month and obtained formal approval from the party's Policy Research Council on Tuesday.

The proposal prioritizes the development of an automated financial infrastructure that supports 24/7 agentic commerce via blockchain networks.

The proposal said that in the age of agentic commerce, AI will autonomously handpick products and services instead of humans, which makes blockchain's tamper-resistant, verifiable, and programmable characteristics highly compatible.

Coinbase Global (NASDAQ:COIN) CEO Brian Armstrong has framed a much larger opportunity for finance as investors wait on the SEC's reportedly delayed plans for tokenized stock trading and blockchain-based assets. The delay, which followed concerns and pushback from Wall Street, has added fresh pressure across major digital assets including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, and SUI. For investors, the bigger question is whether blockchain rails could eventually move beyond crypto speculation and become part of mainstream market infrastructure.

Supply chain optimization represents a high-growth application vertical that is attracting sustained enterprise investment across agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and manufacturing.
