we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation
So after extensive interrogation I have an update:
my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.
the truth is actually weirder
she’s aware dandelions look like this
she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions
she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?
she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.
“buttercups” is a name applied to MANY flowers. in my part of the south it was this one:
imo there’s correct identifications of dandelions, daffodils, easter lilies and marigolds in this thread, but buttercups are simply impossible to agree on and the only solution is for everyone to post pictures of their local buttercups

Day 0: The Praguers take Nebakov in the morning, then von Bergow leaves with them and Hans, probably still in the morning.
It's fully night by the time Istvan gets answers and sends Erik to Kuttenberg, telling him that he can run the horse into the ground if he wants. So von Bergow has probably a 12 hour headstart, but Erik is going signifcantly faster and he probably passes the Praguers and arrives in Kuttenberg at least a full day before von Bergow reaches Maleshov with Hans.
Day 1: Henry and co. escape and head for Kuttenberg after midnight.
Day 2: Erik reaches Kuttenberg and begins sending spies into the city in search of John II of Liechtenstein.
Day 3: Henry et al. probably arrive at Suchdol less than a day after the Praguers arrive at Sigismund's camp. Hans later tells Henry he was in the cart for three days (EDIT: oh my god he actually said four or five days, this timeline is so fucking stupid), but this makes sense because an army moves a lot slower than a single horse or cart.
I did the math back when I first played and figured out that it would take Henry a minimum of five very full days to get into the tower at Maleshov Fortress. So...
Day 8+: Henry gets into Maleshov and overhears Erik discussing his progress. At this point Erik knows Liechtenstein is in the Jewish Quarter.
The timeline with the messenger is actually deeply funny. Nobody at Trosky thought to send a message to von Bergow that Toth had died and his captives escaped. Someone sent word to Sigismund tho, and he sent a messenger (with the same face and voice as George the poet, this one always throws me) to von Bergow only when he wanted to convene a city council meeting. The King's messenger is surprised that they don't already know about Toth.
2 days after that: City council meeting, von Bergow attacks Raborsch, and Erik attacks the Jewish Quarter all in one day/night.
Fun fact: One of the goons in the King Solomon tavern at the start of the pogrom talks about Erik and says that someone went into "his tent" and it's unclear where that tent is. No tents at Maleshov. Two candidates are: Sigismund's camp and Sedletz (I haven't done the monastery DLC yet but you can see tents over the wall from the Sedletz cemetary). The thing that makes me doubt Sedletz is that the Sigismund camp knew that Toth was dead well before Erik did. But Erik doesn't seem to have a tent at the army camp either. Third possibility is that he's got his own bandit camp somewhere (that's what I went with in my fic).
I think it's safe to assume that the day after the pogrom Erik went straight back to Trosky to look for Istvan's body. I imagine he rushed there and then took his time coming back.
The next time we see him isn't until the Italian Job and it's because Brabant told him that Henry would be there. He shows up with a bunch of Praguers, but not nearly enough.
It is unclear where he was that Brabant knew where to find him, since he definitely wasn't at Maleshov or Sigismund's camp. Probably Sedletz? Just hanging out in Sedletz, sulking and not eating?
And then he gets blown up and goes straight to Sigismund's camp where he frees Kubyenka and waits for Henry.
Regardless of whether Henry shows up we can assume he has an emotional breakdown and is never seen again in the Kuttenberg region.
Henry gets thru the bricked up wall at Maleshov at dusk, that's when the messenger arrives and Erik finds out that Istvan is dead. He leaves Maleshov immediately, but he doesn't have time to go to Trosky until after Exodus so presumably he goes back to his camp (wherever you think that is) and musters his soldiers.
Henry, Hans, and Brabant sneak or ride out of Maleshov at dawn the following morning where they inexplicably meet up with Hanush and Radzig on the hill north of Mesoles.
The City Council meeting and the Raborsch meeting both happen simultaneously. Von Bergow attacks Raborsch at dusk. Henry reaches Raborsch after dark. The Rabbi, Henry, Kubyenka, Sam, and John ride back to Kuttenberg very slowly in a wagon.
The Jewish Quarter Pogrom doesn't start until dawn.
Before the Pogrom started, Erik sent men into the King Solomon to kill Sam's friends/employees and search the tavern for 'important documents' and Henry can overhear the "are we the baddies?" conversation:
Goon1: Don’t you think Erik’s been acting weird lately?
Goon2: Isn’t he always?
Goon1: Aye, but he’s even weirder now. Always pissed off, barely talks. I hear he hasn’t even been eating much.
Goon2: I still don’t see what’s new.
Goon1: Kiss my arse then. Always a pleasure talking to you... Don’t you ever get the feeling we’re... on the wrong side?
Goon2: Why the fuck do you serve Erik then if you’re scared shitless of him?
Goon1: What do you expect me to do? Go up to him and tell him I’m leaving?
Goon2: Aye, that ain’t a good idea. I knew a bloke that tried that.
Goon1: And what happened to him?
Goon2: I don’t know actually. I saw him go into Erik’s tent to give him a piece of his mind, but never saw him come out.
I know the writing is always gonna be vague cuz it's open world but this specific quest chain IS timed (meaning you game over if you don't make it to the city council meeting on time), but "lately" and "knew a bloke who tried that" just don't read to me like they're talking about the last two days.
Anyway, you can draw your own conclusions, but I think (assuming it's been more like 2-3 weeks at least since he left Trosky) Erik had been getting weirder and more anxious even before he found out that Istvan was dead.
