"Sure is," Scott replied, raising his brows and shrugging, something that looked faintly like an amused smile on his face. The recoil from the rifle had hit her pretty bad - sheād probably end up with a bruise, but like all the Killjoys, sheād had worse before. "Pick it up again," he said, waiting for her to get back in position. "The end of itās not where it should be," the older Killjoy began explaining; readjusting the buttstock of the rifle so it was near her shoulder and not directly leaning on it. "Exhale instead of inhale before you shoot, this time."
They still had plenty of time to practice. If it went better this time around, she could probably shift her feet around, just to see if her right foot really was her dominant one.
Seeing Scott smile was weird. Trixie was fairly certain he had a similar look when he was finished beating in someone's face if they looked at him wrong, but maybe it was good she was getting it for something like this. His voice and the words that came out of his mouth next, though, were exactly what she expected. To the point and moving forward.
Trixie nodded and lifted the gun again, making sure to remember where Scott was adjusting it so she wouldn't have to be directed again. "Right. Okay." She aimed and braced herself again, taking a couple of slow, deep breaths before finally pulling the trigger. This time, the bullet was closer to the target, though it still hit the arm and shoulder area instead of the heart of the dummy. "Damn."Ā
She frowned, putting the gun down. Her shoulder didn't hurt quite as much after that shot, but it was obviously going to take time before she could shoot the same way as Scott could. Movement caught her eye way off in the distance. Based on the size, it was likely some sort of wild dog that had been far enough away to not get scared by her bullet shots. "You think you can hit that?" Trixie grinned a little, squinting into the light. It was partially a dare, but she also knew Scott was serious enough that he may not go for it.

"Mmh, yeah the storeās been way to quiet lately, our last party was ages ago I canāt even remember anymore." They had needed some time to grief in peace, to get over their losses and mourn them but Ā the days went by and nothing seemed to change. "You know what, youāre right, we have a reputation to maintain. Iām throwing a party.ā She said raising his hand to clink the glasses before taking a sip. āIn a couple days. And youā¦ are invited.āĀ
She couldnāt hide a smile watching the girlās frightened expression when Trixie talked to her. āYou scared her!ā She already felt herself warmer, happier and even a bit light headed. In a nice and good way, just not enough to completely lose her inhibitions yet. āIf we keep this rhythm weāre not gonna even make it to the car.ā She said in a higher voice so her friend could hear her over the music as she put her empty glass on the counter, gesturing to the bartender who filled it in a matter of seconds. She noticed a couple boys staring at them from the dance floor, not older than eighteen, trying to show off. Time to have some fun. Beckanne lowered her neckline and straightened up on her chair running a hand through his hair and licking her lips while staring at them. That was all it took for one of them to run to the bathroom grabbing his crotch. She turned to Trixie laughing out loud shaking his head. āAlright, I think Iāve lost countā¦ is this my fourth drink already? Youāre a bad influence, killjoy.ā
Trixie cackled at the idea of a party. "You know I'll be there!" She had to shout just as loudly for Beckanne to hear her over the noise of the dance floor. She watched her little interaction with the guys on the floor and snorted a bit into her glass. Under too much alcohol, Trixie was the opposite of tiny and fun, but she'd keep up appearances as long as possible. "Way to go," she laughed, elbowing Beckanne. Though she was watching everyone, her eyes kept drifting back to the tattooed guy in the corner. He reminded her a bit of Deacon, and she wasn't sure if she should have been thinking about it as much as she was.
"Me? A bad influence? Maybe you should learn to party to your name, Crybaby." Trixie's grin continued to stretch across her face. Normally, being referred to as a Killjoy would set her on edge, but given where they were, she wasn't very concerned. The music was loud, everyone was intoxicated, drunk, or some combination, and anyone here wouldn't give a fuck if she was gang or not. If the party went down, they were all going to go in big time.
The buzz was strong and Trixie was starting to tip over the edge where things would be funny but she also wouldn't be able to walk a straight line. She also knew, at a certain point, she could easily go from fine to pissed. All it would take was the right person. "Shall we dance?" Trixie's words came out more smoothly than normal as she took Beckanne's hand and tugged her into the crowd with her. She didn't want to lose sight of the other girl, so dancing close seemed to be a good option.

Deacon stayed calm after the attack, more for Trixie's behalf than his own. She was not strong enough to get him out of the bathtub on her own, but had managed to move him into a better position. Deacon tried to make himself helpful and grabbed the edge of the tub with slippery fingers and pulled his own weight until he was sitting. āI'm fineā he said. The dull pain of his body was almost a relief after those frantic moments, but his head was throbbing. āOuch. Mostly fine, anyway. Can you get me a towel?ā he asked pressing a hand against his head, over hers. Blood was seeping through his fingers; not much, but enough to make him worry about loss of conscience and stitches and concussions. His blood looked much brighter now that what was left of water had run down the drain already. āRelax. No need to wake up the whole gang over nothing.ā Deacon grabbed her other hand tentatively and moved it away from his face. He still was holding his wound, just in case. āThat happened yesterday too, while you were passed out in my floor. Didn't tell you so you wouldn't freak out.ā Slowly, carefully, Deacon stood up and stepped out of the shower using Trixie as support. āMuscle relaxers sound great right now.ā He'd swallow any pill that promised to make him feel better in those moments, and probably anything that could send him to sleep.
Trixie glared at Deacon at the mention of whatever happened to him being 'nothing', but she moved none the less, taking her hand out from under his when he moved her other hand. She stepped out of the bathtub, careful not to slip on the tile, and grabbed a towel before returning to him to help him step out. However okay he was pretending to be didn't stop the knots in her stomach that hadn't left ever since the fever had become something more.
"Yeah, I bet." Once he was out and standing on his own, she handed him the towel. She pocketed the pills and some gauze and once again put herself next to him to help support his weight. "Let's go back to your bed and then we can take care of everything else." The fear had practically numbed her, and the list of everything she had to do was her focus even as they walked back to his room. Get Deacon to bed, make sure his head stopped bleeding, get a couple hours of sleep, grab the cash, get meds. Get in, get out, get Deacon looking less like death.Ā
