Home Buyers Can Negotiate Their Agent's Commission
Are you buying a home or thinking about it?
Do you know how much money your agent will make when you purchase a new home? Do you know who pays that commission? Did you know that the more you spend the more they make?
The way of doing business in the world of real estate was created 100 years ago and no one has ever challenged it. It is commonly believed that the seller pays the commission to the buyer's agent and that using an agent does not cost a buyer anything. This is a Myth!
Sellers pay commissions to their agent and the buyer's agent at the closing. The money used to pay those commissions comes from the buyers. When your agent is making 2.8% on the purchase price of your home, the seller has to take that in to account when pricing and negotiating your offer. When you spend 250,000 on a home, the commission YOU are paying to your agent is $7,000. You have to pay $7,000 more for the house because of this fee.
At Trelora, we believe commissions should not be charged based on the price of a home. Think about this... if you are buying a $500,000 home, your agent makes $14,000. Have you ever wondered what an agent does differently when they show you a $250,000 home versus a $500,000 home? The reality is that nothing is different. Knowing this, do you believe paying a percentage based on the price of the home may, in fact, be unfair to you? We at TRELORA say YES! That's why we only take a flat fee of $3000 and leave the rest for the buyer and seller to use to help make the deal come together! If you are buying a home you need to talk to your agent about the commission they make! At Trelora we're committed to educating consumers about the changes we're making in real estate that benefit both the buyer and the seller!
The price of your home does not determine the value of real estate service we provide.
