Travis Tubbs

This was the first time I've been to the Neptune Theater. I really like its aesthetic. I would expect to see a stage play here, not have my face rocked.

Opening bands! YES! They were great. And right up my alley for musical tastes.

First up was Super Sometimes and then Harrison Gordon. They brought me back to my post-High School life with their early-00s vibes. A lot of Drive Thru Records bands discovery and idobi Radio listening occurred during that time for me. Super Sometimes' pop punk and Harrison Gordon's alt rock was the perfect combination of tunes. Hope to see more of them in the future!

Of course, there's the Daoboys themselves. I cannot remember the last time I felt this much energy. And they brought it! It's infection. Now I'm not saying my out of shape mid-40s ass is getting in the pit, but I was definitely vibing in my seat up in the balcony.

After their set, I had to get ready to wrap the night up and wanted to pick up some merch. (Of course I got a hat.) I felt like a doof though cus Carson was greeting people at the merch table and he talked to the person in front of me and the person after me. I awkwardly asked if I could say things but I'm pretty sure it came out in a very weird way. But at least I got to congratulate him on his success?

Apologies to Arm's Length, the headliner of the show. I did have to bounce after this. It was a work night, I already had a long day, and I still had an hour or so to get home.

It was a really fun night though. I was still buzzing the next day. And I was introduced to some new bands too. One of the best nights I had in a long time.

Discovering Ballard wasn't the only item on the agenda. I was hoping to find something nice to send my mom for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, that didn't pan out. Don't think she would enjoy this book I saw.

I did find a nice little Mexican restaurant though! It was their anniversary too. I was there before the celebrations started, but still got to enjoy some delicious goodness.

One thing I do enjoy about the Ballard area is the various older buildings.

They just have some charm to them you don't see in the clean-looking modern buildings. I don't mind the newer buildings but there's a lot of "samsies" looks to them.
