Was listening to a creepy sailing song my pal was playing in the car. Got me thinking about old whaling stories of monsters in the deep; sailers stories of whales attacking ships and sinking them to the depths. Got my head rolling down a cool direction. I think I will write a story based on this feeling. In my excitement I drew this. Maw of The Laviathine. This was my final digital painting in my Illustration 1: Fundamentals class at NCAD. Took about 12 hours to paint the watches, and then another 4 to do the chains. I used a chain brush to get the rough shape of the chains, but the highlights and little details I went in and did myself, and I think that is what makes them sell. They turned out great. The wood texture was taken from a red table top, but becasue I wanted to say that I had painted it myself, I bumped the opacity way down and painted over the texture with a fan brush tool. This was definitely a little odd for me, I have never done a still life like this before, digitally, and with an imaginary object. (I used references for the watch, but I designed this one myself out of many other watches.) I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoy having finished it!

Alphabet letter Illustration assignment I worked on for my Illustration Fundamentals class at NCAD. This one was fun, it only took me about 8 hours. I didn't use any pen tools or anything, just the brush and eraser tools. Some may consider that a little backwards, but I am just faster this way.

This one was an assignment in my Illustration 1 fundamentals class at NCAD. It is a conceptual illustration of an oxymoron: Virtual Reality. I did this in a different style than I am comfortable with, trying to aim at a style I see on magazines.

We were given a great Batman Model to texture. I had Some UV maps, bit they were fairly tangled, so part of the assignment was untangling them. We got to be creative with our interpretations, I decided to go for a classic Batman mixed with the future Batman Beyond costume. These screen grabs are of my model in Unity.

This short clip was my final Project for my 3D Model Shading and Lighting class at NCAD. I created the scene in maya, and a majority of the textures in photoshop; I used a few free textures to save me some time, since they were not the main focus of the project. I did create all he models from this project; with the goal of using as little geometry as possible.

Anthropomorphic Meerkat Illustration I did of Cinderella. It was based off of a page from a children’s book for an Illustration assignment at NCAD. It took me a while to finish for some reason. (But it would have taken a lot longer if my cool friend Toni hadn’t shown me some cool tricks!
