Hydra is one of the most unique islands in Greece, known for its beautiful stone mansions, quiet harbour and car- free way of life. Here, transport comes in the form of boats, walking or the island's famous donkeys, giving the whole destination a slower and more peaceful atmosphere.

Despite being so close to Athens, Hydra feels a world away from the city. Days are spent wandering through narrow streets, swimming in crystal-clear water and watching life unfold around the harbour.

It's easy to see why so many people visit for a day and end up wishing they had stayed longer.

🏝️ HOW TO GET THERE?

Take the ferry from the port of Pollonia, Milos

There are limited ferries per day, so make sure to check the schedule (they usually run every 95 minutes).

Price: approx. 1.5€ per person, 3€ for a scooter and 5€ for a car. You pay directly at the port.

The journey takes around 45 minutes port-to-port. Milos and Kimolos are very close to each other, but the ferry is quite slow.

Summer is approaching. As summer plans are slowly taking shape, I have prepared for you a mini guide to Naxos, a typical Greek island with white houses, beautiful seas and magnificent sunsets.🤗

The best place to stay is the port outside the ferry. This is also the Chora, the historic settlement of the island.

It is suitable for families with children, couples, groups of friends, those looking for a beautiful sea, windsurfers, those who say “there should be no small island, but there should be many villages and towns to explore”, “there should be only one island but there should be a few more beautiful islands to visit and see in its surroundings. Many of you will understand that you love this island.

Finally, when you go to Naxos, you must see the small and cute island of Koufonisi with its enchanting seas, even if only for a day.
