 dog tags are normally used to help identify the fallen in battle. but what they wear around their necks serves a slightly different purpose. mainly it helps distinguish them from us. but it’s also a warning. “beware of dog.”

it has probably already been done…but here is my version

Male moor frogs [Rana arvalis] patiently waiting for females to arrive to their breeding pond in Bavaria. Moor frogs are widespread and common throughout Europe and Asia. Males of certain populations of these frogs have the ability to change in color from light brown to the smoky blueish-grey seen above. This occurs for only a few days out of the year, and helps the frogs to distinguish males from females at their breeding sites. Images by Dr. Joachim Nerz.
