Inspired by the fascinating insights from @leog4u's Adult Gaming Survey and the ongoing community discussions opened up by the Adult Analysis Anthology, I want to survey readers like you to better understand what people read, how they find it, and what they're actually looking for from indie erotica writers.

The survey takes around 10 minutes, is fully anonymous, and focuses on basic questions like 'where do you search for new work' and 'how important to you are detailed content tags'. There are open response questions at the end where you're welcome to add nuance or anything you feel the survey missed.

As we all know, times are very tough for adult creators. This survey will run for a month (March 7th - April 7th), after which the results will be shared with the community to help erotic prose writers of all kinds gain insight into what readers are looking for and how we can better help you find it. It's a win-win for all of us!

Since moving house, settling into a new town, dealing with things in my personal life and catching back up on my day job, I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to circulate this survey, so I am going to extend the closing date until this Sunday (12th April) to make sure we get as many varied responses as possible.

For the record...

The response rate so far has been incredible! Having hoped to gather 500-1000, we're currently sitting at 3,185! That's really good data.

The interest, appetite and support for indie erotica evidenced by your responses so far is enormous. Audiences are VOCAL about their appreciation for erotica writers, and about their solidarity as we all deal with tightening online restrictions and creator deplatforming.

While there are a few clear leaders, the popular platforms and genres people look to are broad and varied! There's a lot out there, and there really is a reader for everything.

Readers are HUNGRY for the specific - weird, daring, experimental, unapologetic erotica. And they want to hear about it! One of the most common messages to creators is PROMOTE YOUR WORK, HELP US FIND IT!
