So, there are essentially three main stages of the virus, so let's start with stage one Stage one begins with the initial infection of the pak, once the virus enters the pak it immediately goes to work and begins to basically rewrite the coding within it. The sudden change and corruption inside the pak will throw the recently infected Irken into a state of extreme hysteria in a matter of minutes, followed by violent and irradic outburst. A stage one infected irken loses a majority of verbal communication skills, and acts mostly off of instincts. This is due to the virus literally rewriting a majority of the coding within their paks, causing them to default to a more primitive state of mind and, to some extent, being as well. After enough time, the virus will naturally progress to stage two, however the length of this time can vary between irkens.

Stage two begins once the virus has rewritten and converted a mass majority of data within the pak. At this point the virus will begin fine tuning converted data, and eventually progressing moving on to begin small scale biological mutations to the irkens body. Stage two irkens will not only begin to regain some of their previously lost intellect, but they will also seek out and flock to other corrupted irkens. At stage two corrupted irkens essentially will start to form a swarm or coloney like social system. Stage two irkens will begin to show slight physical mutations, mainly in their eyes, teeth, and antenna, though some late stage two irkens will occasionally have some elongation in their limbs. Stage two can last anywhere between a few weeks to a couple years, the time will vary greatly depending on the irken.

Stage three is the final and essentially peaked form of corruption from the virus. Stage three irkens have not just completed a full conversion from the virus, but have also managed to adapt and meld with it. They tend to have a much higher intelligence compared to stage two, and grow much more cunning and strategical as well. Stage three infected irkens tend to draw a large group of stage two and one irkens to them, and will often find ways to delegate and command them for a maximized output of destruction. At stage three, irkens will exhibit a higher degree of physical mutation such as developing digitigrade legs, strong and piercing claws, and sharp barbs along their arms and legs. Their are also some cases of stage three irkens developing more 'personalized' mutations, which can vary in being caused by environmental factors or a strong mental state in mind prior to infection.
