So like... was anybody gonna tell me about there being a CABNW children's book set some time before the movie's events, that is considered canon to the MCU?

So this cute boy DJ goes on a class trip to see Sam Wilson give a speech in which he announces he'll deliver solar battery drones to neighbourhoods around Washington DC. He also talks about how there is no one way to be a hero, and that anyone can be a hero. Then the Serpent mercenaries attack, and Sam has to leave his shield behind to pursue them. DJ picks up the shield and tries to get it to Sam to help him, saving people along the way, which in the end causes Sam to tell the kid that he is what a hero looks like. Two things: This being MCU canon show us how Sam uses his Cap platform, and that he's been tussling with the Serpent group for a while. And also, the kid rescues a dog from the Bucky Barnes exhibit at the Smithsonian, and he names the dog Barky Barnes.

Returning to my old Mute Bucky au (inspired by someone’s blind Bucky au I came across) for the first time since (yikes) 2021.

I’ve included the original lore sheet, but it isn’t accurate anymore. When revisiting this AU, I decided Sam already knew some ASL but actually spent time learning it properly between Civil War and Infinity War. By the time he saw Bucky again in Wakanda, he was able to have almost completely fluent conversations with him. In FATWS, Sam is completely fluent.

Sarah speaks some (understands finger spelling the best) so the scene where Bucky introduces himself doesn’t have to change much.

I also updated Bucky’s scar (based around the Agent Carter Leviathan agents scars) and tried new ways to show the sign language in comic form. It was a fun challenge and I did a lot of research into other comics with mute or deaf characters for inspiration.
