something different, this is just one out of 3 cosplay shoots i have done with this guy for my final project and portfolio images 

these image are from my photoshoot before half term of charlotte. with these images i used a fog machine to create the effect in the images.

Business card 90mm x 54mm Front To start of with I started with a new document on Photoshop and changed the cavers size to 90mm x 54mm with the resolution of 300. Then changed the rotation 90cw so the card is portrait, also I duplicated the background so I could look at what I had done before and after. Using the rectangle tool I drew a box around half of the frame to produce a Polaroid background. When putting the main image in to the frame I open the original onto Photoshop and dragged in into the main page I was working on. To fit the image in to the frame I had to down size the image I did this by keeping my finger down on the shift key on the keyboard to constrain the image so the image wouldn’t become pixelated. When fitting the image in the box I wouldn’t all fit in so what I did using the eyedropper tool I selected the same colour as the background then using the magic wand tool I selected the white, then filed black it in with the paint bucket tool. I also searched the internet (Google) for a graphic aperture lens image that I wanted to place at the bottom of the card so the view would know that I am a photographer. I found a clean clear-cut image and opened it up on to Photoshop. When opening the image onto Photoshop I selected each piece of the image and dragged it onto my main work. With them all ready selected I place placed them where I wanted the image to be, to help me I used the grid to get the image placement even. Also using the eyedropper tool the black I already had selected I also used to fill in the aperture lens more black so the colour would tie in more with the image, to complete the image I dropped the opacity to 52% on the image its self it looks faded/worn out. When looking for text to use on my business card I looked on dafont, which is a website where you can download different fonts. When on this website I wanted an only fashion type writer font witch I found this font when coming to use it was a little faded but using the black I had used before I used to make the text more bolder than I was. Back On the back of the business card I chose to this landscape because all you need to do is flip the card round and it will be easy for the view of the card to read. To start of with I dragged the graphic aperture lens image that I used on the front of the card on to the back so the image would be even and I wouldn’t have to do the editing side of it again. I placed this image on the top of the card to make a pyramid effect with the writing. I used this image as a base to do that and using the grid to help me line the writing up with the image. I used the same text as I did on the front of the card to keep the theme running through the hole of the card, as I didn’t want things to look odd or different. With the writing I use a size 14 and then I stretched the text out to look bigger than it was so it was clear to read and didn’t look to compact on the layout. I also used the grid to space out each layer of writing so it would have one line with writing, miss a line then one with It on. This was a good effect I think to use so the card didn’t look to busy and gave a clean crisp finish. Creating this business card I found that it is easy if you have a main idea in mind, don’t just start it with out one. Also creating this I have found new tools and ways that I can use instead of just going on to a website and just using a template. This crate task had improved my skills in Photoshop and shown I know more about Photoshop than I do. What I think I can improve on is making sure more things are in line with each other, using more tools that will help me do this. What I have improved on is using different tools in my work and when editing different images that are from the internet making sure they are not pixelated and going over them with a clear edit.

Dine Arbus was an American photographer known for her black and white photographs that where of people who where different, people that where considered to be different (not from this world). She once said she was “Afraid…. That she would be known simply as the photographer of freaks” but I think she showed us more of a reality though her photographers, showing that everyone can be different.

Final image This is my final image I have produced, creating something that doesn’t really existed inn the real world. Before creating this image I looked at different mythical creatures and Egyptian gods to see if they could give any ideas on what I could create as a final image, a most gods and creatures where half of something different. I thought about creating a wolf boy but that would be to hard as I couldn’t take any images of a wolf. So I chose a dog instead, this came in easy as I had many images of animals. The way I created this image was I took a portrait image of a subject that I could use as my background/base image. I loaded this image into photo shop and my image of the dog as well. I dragged the image of the dog on to my main subject. And stretched it out over the face so different parts of the dog and subjects face matched up together. Next I put an overlay on the image of the dog so you cold faintly see the marks of the dog and see the factual features of the subject. I also masked the unwanted parts of the image of the dog that wasn’t needed in my final image. Next I turn both of the images to black and white and brought the curves and leaves of the image up so the image was more brighter and you could see all the detail of the image. I also brought the curves up more on the face of the dog so you couldn’t see the parts of the subject I didn’t want you to see.
