          There was simply no denying my attraction to my English teacher, Mr. Montgomery. I spent my entire senior year of high school repressing my attraction to him, and it wasn’t easy because I was one of his favorite students. After my graduation and after that summer, I went off to an out-of-town college in Philadelphia and I was finally able to put my feelings for him on the back burner. However, I ran into him during winter break at a grocery store and we talked for a while. He gave me his number and that’s when things really took an interesting turn. He let me call him by his first name, Langston, since I wasn’t his student anymore. We began texting and talking to each other regularly and even though it was strictly platonic, I hoped more could develop between us.

          I’d been into photography since I was a kid so it was what I chose as my major in college. I rarely visited my Pittsburgh neighborhood but when I did, I spent most of my time taking pictures with the expensive Canon camera my grandparents bought me for Christmas. I came home one weekend in late-February and somehow, I talked Langston into letting me photograph him. Even though the pictures would be for my private collection, I was so nervous. I hadn’t thought of what I wanted the theme to be or if I wanted to include his wife.

          “I can’t believe I’m about to do this,” I said over the phone to my friend Jordan. “I’m sitting outside his house right now in my car.”

          “Then get off the phone with me and go knock on his door,” Jordan said back on the other end. “If he fucks you, I better hear about every single detail.”

          “Jordan, he used to be my teacher.”

          “And?”

          “And that’s not something a teacher and his former student should do, no matter how much I would enjoy it. Besides, he’s straight.”

          “No man is one hundred percent straight. I think every man has a level of curiosity in him.”

          I laughed and told him, “I think that may be the craziest thing I’ve ever heard you say.”

          “I’m serious, Marcel. In some men, it’s probably a weaker sensation than in others or they let society get in their heads. I truly think every single man on this earth has had at least one homosexual thought. For many, it’s all about the right moment and the right guy to do it with.”

          “I really need to make friends on-campus with people our age who are stereotypical. I swear you and Demetrius should be philosophy majors. Everything has to have some big philosophical meaning with you two.”

          “Be that as it may, both Demetrius and I agree that you need some dick. We’re starting to believe you’re a virgin.”

          “I am not a virgin. I had like five different boyfriends in high school. I just haven’t connected with anyone on-campus yet.” I checked the time on my radio and quickly told him, “It’s getting late. I’m going in.”

          “Good luck. Judging by the pic you showed me, that Mr. Montgomery looks like he may have a big dick.”

          “Goodbye, Jordan.” I laughed to myself as I ended the call and put my phone away.

          After grabbing what I’d need from my backseat, I locked my car up and headed around to the side of the house. Langston had told me he was having work done on the house and that the front door couldn’t be used, so I had to use the side patio doors. His house was in a neighborhood about five miles from my neighborhood. There was a nice pool and jacuzzi not far from the patio doors. The house was much bigger than my house, so I wondered what exactly his wife did for a living. There was no way he could afford a house like that with a teacher’s salary. The patio doors had no blinds or curtains over them, so I could see all of his kitchen through them.

          I knocked on the patio door and after a few seconds, he descended a set of stairs that led into the kitchen. He hurried over to the door and opened it before saying, “Hey, Marcel. Come on in.” He stepped back to let me into the warm house and then closed the door once I was inside. “I was wondering if you’d changed your mind.”

          “Sorry for taking so long,” I told him. “I was actually struggling with myself over this. It seems…unethical for me to even think of doing this with you.”
