A/N: So…i started a new fic. and this is partly because i fell into an obsession with the seven husbands of evelyn hugo, partly because i adore @cheapthrillsbeca’s baby, i know places we won’t be found and mooosical’s mix the bourgeosie and the rebel, and partly because i fell back in love with my own fame au from a couple years ago.
so here I am. with yet another fic. And I think I really like the way this turned out. :)
excerpt from chapter 1—i watched it begin again:
Emily rolls her eyes, but sits back, giving Beca space. “Have you watched her movies?”
Beca hesitates. “Some,” she admits gruffly. “I watched some.”
Theo leans forward again, uninvited, to whisper in a faux-conspiratory tone. “She binged like…everything in one weekend. All her movies. I’ve never seen her so glued to her TV.”
“Aww, Beca!” Emily exclaims at the same time Beca turns around to throw her shoe at Theo.
“I was doing research,” Beca hisses. “Besides, she only has a few movies. You’re so fucking annoying,” she says, mostly to her mixing board.
“Who?” Emily asks, laughing.
If Beca didn’t consider Emily so much of an annoying younger sister, she would have asked to be let go sooner. “Both of you. Now be quiet so I can work.”
“Your entire job revolves around me not being quiet,” Emily points out.
“She wants to look busy so that when Chloe shows up, she can look like a big and serious music producer.”
Beca is about to yell at Theo again or maybe even throw her other shoe when a knock sounds at the door. Beca double-checks to make sure that everything is saved before she stands, padding over to the door. Behave, she mouths at the two delinquents lounging in the room.
“Hi,” Chloe greets, eyes bright and eager the moment Beca opens the door.
“Hi,” Beca replies, unable to do much else other than stare at Chloe’s incredibly blue eyes. “Uh. Hi.”
Chloe smiles. “You said that. Hi Beca. I’m Chloe.”
