There are too many dogwhistles to keep track of, especially with the ADL's credibility having gone down the drain, but something perhaps more important than cataloguing all dogwhistles is understanding how constant and pervasive it is

Nazis are constantly talking in code, obscuring their meaning, and reframing it is jokey funny harmless shit.

It is not harmless nor jokey, and yet it trickles into the mainstream all the time *because* people think it's meaningless

Instead of a cutesie reference to film censorship it was an explicit statement of defiance of Maryland's criminalization gay sex, which was not repealed until 2002.
