Ethiopia is going green in a very big way! 🌳 Volunteers, government officials, and aid workers reportedly planted more than 353 million trees on Monday as part of the country’s Green Legacy Initiative. If the planting effort is confirmed by auditors, the country will have smashed the previous one-day record set by India of 50 million trees. Reforesting the planet could be the best way to combat climate change and protect the planet, and this effort would be a helpful step in restoring the environment. In order to understand and combat human trafficking, the immoral trade of humans, we must understand the three elements that it encompasses. These elements are the act, means, and purpose. To begin with, human trafficking is the recruitment of people who are then transport or transferred; in other words, human beings that have become the cargo. Human trafficking comes in many forms such as for sexual or organ purposes; however, the common means is through threat or force: coercion. Vulnerable people such as women and young children are framed under fraud or deception and human traffickers abuse their powers. This form of trafficking, which has become one of the biggest underground markets is done primarily for exploitation for sexual desires or the want for body organs, or forced labour.  Hence, human trafficking is rather complex for multiple purposes; however, one thing that is in common is that such trafficking is nefarious, stripping away individual dignity.

This organization provides holistic care for survivors of child sexual exploitation and journey with them as they are reintegrated back into communities. This organization also reach out to youth in schools, group homes and community settings, to teach them how to protect themselves and their friends from trafficking. Also, as adults are crucial in the fight to end trafficking, this organization train professionals to prevent trafficking and support the victims. And they also work together with other abolitionists as they believe that a single effort will not be enough. They are growing the movement to end child trafficking and provide effective, thoughtful solutions. Their vision is the “abolition of child trafficking and exploitation.
