Unpopular opinion, but I hate summer, it's not the heat or the humidity that gets me, it's how the day gets too long, people are nervous, annoying, and I have too much time to think while everyone around me is forcefully trying to either relax or work extra hard or rush somewhere. It might be just me, but I can't imagine a scenario in which I like summer and I'm not on vacation. And that vacation is just a small illusion in a long, hellish, almost three months long rat race.
I miss being 14 and spending summer alone in my room, playing the Sims 3. Not a fucking care in the world...

Impressive. A brilliant selection.
It was Akira Kurosawa who truly "knew" this manâToshiro Mifune. One might say, one man knew another. Kurosawa sent Mifune into the world with his own screenplay, "The End of the Silver Mountains," entrusted to his protĂŠgĂŠ, Senkichi Taniguchi, and then completely mastered him with "Drunken Angel." Mifune lived within the presence of this great director who knew him so well, while simultaneously being under his control.
Mifune's Zatopek-esque rise could be attributed to his talent, luck, or even sheer fortune. Of course, even today, when he's considered a great star, his acting ability is still far from being unquestionable. His nasal low voice still doesn't register on Japanese recording equipment. However, he has an oblivion that transcends these limitations. Behind the oblivion is humor. In other words, he's human. That's what Kurosawa recognized in him.
The fine young man is reportedly heading to Italy. Let us bless his new journey and see how his humor will blossom.
Let's work together so we can save everyone.
