The Theme of SoR
Iâm rewatching SoR the musical and Iâm emotional over an underlying theme. That theme being the idea of people needing to be heard and others listen . Dewey wants to break the mold and people to hear his music. Tomika and the other kids desperately want to be heard by an adult(s) that care for them. Even Rosalie Mullins wants to be heard and be herself. Dewey was the one to listen to the kids and Rosalie and in return they listened to him. Itâs just really sweet

JUST SPILL THE TRUTH. In my own personal opinion Dewey and Ned def went through their self discovery phase together. Those two dated for a hot minute while performing in MAGGOT DEATH. But they settled as just friends later on in life. But that doesnât mean Dewey doesnât look at Nedâs ass every once in a while.

This afternoon I was cooking lunch and dancing around my kitchen while listening to the School of Rock Original Broadway Recording and I had a thought... how do you think Dewey would react to come home from work to find you wearing one of his shirts and a pair of underwear and nothing else dancing in the kitchen singing along to his music??? I completely agree. Deweyâs heart would just melt. He would wait till just the right moment to join in and hit that sick riff. Just to surprise you. Then of course he would join in, and then once that big teddy bear is tired he will just hold onto from behind while you keep cooking.Â
Can I request Dewey with a dancer s/o? Like he would love watching his s/o perform and would be at every single performance and always brings flowers backstage for his s/o. Bonus points if the s/o does ballet
Dewey with a dancing significant other is just him gushing over them ALL THE TIME. Now you need to understand this bitch doesnât understand that at a ballet you have to be polite. So in the middle of their last recital after they finished a song there was a very loud âWHOOOH YEAH! ENCORE- oh shit my bad okay okay Iâll sit down.â  He always brings the biggest bouquet of flowers he can possibly muster.Â

When Deweyâs bf is crying he canât help but need to comfort. Letâs be honest Dewey hasnât always been the best at emotions, but ever since the kids heâs been more open.
He caught his bf crying and immediately went and wrapped his arms around him. âBabe? Babe, whatâs wrong?â. His boyfriend just whimpers and more tears pour. Dewey wipes them away with his thumb âHey-Hey thatâs okay...you donât have to tell meâ Heâs patient and will be there to talk and cuddle when his  boyfriend needs it.

Teen/Young Adult!Dewey
Nobody talks about Dewey in his younger years and Iâm bored on a trip so here we go.
-Heâs an amateur guitar player
-is one of those teens who keeps trying to start a band but nobody else wants to actually put effort towards it
-Except one person did and that was Ned.
-Ned and Dewey have been best friends since freshmen year. They me through marching band.
-Ned played the clarinet, and Dewey played the saxophone (duh)
-Dewey also played guitar for the jazz band.
-He excelled really well in his music classes but other wise he wasnât the greatest in the rest of subjects.
-Thank gOd Ned tutored him or that boy wouldâve never graduated
-Once he graduated he and Ned moved to the city together. Ned attended university and Dewey was determined to jump start his music career

-Dew loves giving hugs and holding hands. He loves just being close to someone physically
- His hair is so fluffy and he loves pets from his significant others.
