so here r the ms paint sketches, first is just getting everything down how i want, second is refining it + adding some details, i refine by flipping the canvas and fixing mistakes, then i plot out how i want the colours to look roughly (mostly where light, shadow and reflective light are)
heres a progress pic of the second pic (i sent some images to friend)
next i hopped in krita, brushes used
and lineart using the ink 4 brush, back of hair and tail where made by using shape fill brush the putting a layer effect (stroke, 4 thickness)
decided that id value paint (dark = shadow light = light), and since i had a specific way the lighting would look, i just started plopping down the 2 colours, bleding them out when need be, and repeated until the while thing was done
once the grayscales where done, had to drop the colours in using a blend mode. hair and tails lineart effects where changed for this, since krita uses clipping groups i put the effect on the clipping group instead so the colours wouldnt fuck with it and i could work with it seperately
here its on the "colour" blend mode. some parts where fine but just looks muddy so i spent some time going over every blend mode in krita to find one that fits the vibe of the image
decided on using the "super light" blend mode because fuck you it looks nice
finally, i coloured in the lineart as usual. for the base (not hair/tail) i used the shape fill brush on a clipping layer t turn the whole lineart a dark orange, then on overlapping areas and areas directly hit by light, i chose a colour that matched the area (so for the dress a blue since the dress looks a bit blue) and bledned out where it touched the regular lineart. for the hair/tail i went into the stroke effect and changed the colour from black to the orange from the hair (since the stroke was on multiply/75%, it still fit in even when overlapping). for the halo (last detail) i just drew it out normally, gave it a gradient, positioned it properly, skewed it a bit to make it look in perspective, and gave it a glow to help it stand out a bit, but when adding the effects, to help her stand out some more from the bg, i also but a glow effect on the whole layer with her so i guess it was a bit redundant
the railing, curtains and bird all where done similarily, just a quicker way that i rendered the girl, dark colour light colour middly colour then fucked around and blended till it looked good enough
the bg was a doozy since im not rlly used to drawin bgs, the sky was simply as i treated it similarily to the rest clouds used that basic 3 flow brush since it looked cloud like, but for the grass i struggled, and so did my laptop. i had to create a new file just to render it out since the main file was lagging a lot. at first i took a random brush and plopped it down but it looked ass so i went with another brush that i forgot to mention so i guess this brush is not gonna be found, and just started plopping down colours in a rough gradient, blending them out, adding more so they looked nicer and continued
above is a partway shot, on a new layer i took the stamp brushed and started going a bit ham to make it look more grassy and nice, exported it, then imported the png back into my image, added stars in the sky using that one brush, and moved onto effects, heres the finished grass if ur wondering cuz i kept the png
there where 3 effects in krita, an overlay at around 22% that was just there to make the bg look more concistent (orange whole, yellow white where the sun is, light pink around the edges, blue before the pin kfor no reason), the shitty lens flar around the sun, and a noise layer also on overlay 25%, then online i put a chromatic abbeartion effect becuase it looks nice
had to massively compress the images (they were 13-14 mb, i could only submit 5 mbs ) so i did that and heres the compressed images if ur wondering
